- Examine patients to ensure they are prepared for surgery
- Meeting with patients before medical procedures to discuss their medical history and lifestyle.
- Assessing patients' conditions through analysis of medical history.
- Explaining to patients the surgical process.
- Administering anesthesia and monitoring patient vital signs during medical and surgical procedures, and making appropriate adjustments in anesthesia to ensure patient comfort.
- Monitoring patient vital signs and pain management after surgical and medical procedures to ensure patient comfort.
- Maintaining patient records relating to their procedures and the type and amounts of medications given.
- Preparing patients by explaining what will happen to them and informing them of any risks or side effects




- Managing postoperative pain to assist a patient in their recovery
- Resuscitating and stabilising patients in a critical care unit
- Collaborating with other health professionals, such as Surgeons, Theatre Nurses and Radiologists to ensure the wellbeing of patients
- Performing administrative tasks, such as drafting discharge letters or patient reports
- Training and supervising junior medical staff
- Staying up to date regarding the latest medical developments and research in their field
- Examine patients to ensure they are prepared for surgery
- Monitor vital signs during surgery
- Manage medical problems if they occur during surgery
- Making cooperative decisions that are in the best interests of the patient
- Monitor recovery
- Determine when a patient has recovered from the effects of anesthesia
- Create recovery plans
- Consult with other doctors on patient care
- Decide when a patient is ready to be discharged or be moved to a specific room
