The Service Desk Analyst I undertakes purchasing of equipment and software approved by IMS Management. Coordinates the distribution of approved software to both internal and external customers. Maintains software licenses and inventories.

What You Will Do:

- Assures required approval and documentation occurs prior to the request for purchase of equipment and software and assures that the purchases contemplated are reviewed for compliance with IMS departmental and company standards.
- Maintains records on status of purchases requested, including the originating documentation, information on when the order was sent out, the vendor and the customer, delivery and verification of delivery. On receipt of equipment and software, prepares for payment by matching documented authorization with delivery documentation.
- Solicits product quotes from vendors; performs periodic reviews of vendor pricing and performance; ensures vendors are meeting set expectations.
- Coordinates the distribution of approved software to both internal and external customers as appropriate. Ensures that distribution of software satisfies customer expectations and is in compliance with IMS departmental and company standards.
- Registers purchased software with product vendor, maintains software licenses and media in an organized and controlled setting, and maintains records of distributed software.
- Responsible for software license management and clearly communicating license requirements to IMS management and end users.
- Coordinates with vendors for engineering software purchases, maintenance, and ongoing support.
- Provides budget projections for annual engineering software purchases and maintenance.
- Assists in the review and documentation of proposed new technology products and procedures.
- Prepares regularly scheduled reports and analysis on activities of assigned areas. Monitors customer satisfaction with IMS services/products and provides input of same to IMS Management.
- Communicates status of assigned projects, customer concerns,



etc. to IMS Manager, Quality Assurance.
- Performs projects related to IMS End User Services as assigned.

What You Will Need: Education and Experience

- A college degree from an accredited university; comparable on-the-job experience could be acceptable.
- 2 years of experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Basic knowledge of and working experience with Microsoft operating system software and standard end-user computer applications, including word processors, spreadsheets, and report generation tools.
- Familiarity with the requirements of purchasing by IMS and ABS.
- A willingness to occasionally work non-standard hours (e.g., before 7 am and after 6 pm weekdays and on weekend days) as necessary to assist in meeting scheduled due dates and ensuring that customer needs are met.
- Clarity and conciseness in both oral and written communication; able to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Friendly, outgoing and helpful attitude; ability to work positively in a team environment and with external customers.
- Obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System.

Reporting Relationships: The incumbent reports directly to the IMS Manager, End User Services. This position does not have any direct reports.

Working Conditions:

The work environment will primarily be an air-conditioned office setting requiring the employee to sit for prolonged periods while concentrating on a computer screen.
