Role Details

Location - Bangalore (Corporate Office)

Work Model - Onsite

This role sits within BigBasket's Central Strategy team in Bangalore, combining strategic planning, competitive intelligence, and analytics. As part of the Central Strategy team, the analyst works closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams across warehousing, fulfillment, last-mile delivery, category, and product to structure business problems and support decisions on expansion, store planning, service areas, operational efficiency, and business reviews. The role involves developing analyses, evaluating business trade-offs, and providing clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.

What would you be doing?

Strategic Initiatives

- Assist in implementation of key projects and strategic initiatives
- Lead competitive intelligence and market benchmarking through peer tracking, industry trend analysis,



and assessment of key macroeconomic drivers
- Evaluate expansion opportunities with business units through primary and secondary research, competitive landscape analysis, and business case development
- Partner with category, supply chain, and product teams to convert strategic insights into executable initiatives
- Identify and drive initiatives that improve operational productivity, workforce efficiency, and cost performance

Investor Engagement and Fund Raise:

- Support the fund-raising activities, investor meets and board reviews
- Prepare MBR/OP reporting and translate technical findings into clear business narratives for leadership
- Performing qualitative and quantitative analysis of business MIS, KPIs, and benchmarking
- Engaging with various internal and external stakeholders for obtaining inputs, data, information, and coordination of workstreams
- Working on investor communication materials (Board Decks, Investor Presentation, Financial models/Business Plans etc.)

Who are we looking for?

- Proficiency in Python for data analysis (pandas, numpy, etc.)
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques and libraries for forecasting problems
- Working knowledge of generative AI tools and prompt engineering
- Working knowledge of AWS tools (e.g. SageMaker, S3, Redshift)



and familiarity with cloud-based data workflows
- Strong SQL (Trino/Presto, Redshift) - comfortable diagnosing join/grain issues and writing production-grade, iterative pipelines
- Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured analysis and explicit recommendations
- Experience communicating analytical insights to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders through MBR/OKR reporting, PowerPoint presentations, and narrative decision documents
- 2–5 years in analytics, data science, or business intelligence roles, ideally in e-commerce/quick-commerce/retail
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline, such as engineering, statistics, economics, or a related field.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

- Experience in competitive intelligence, market benchmarking, peer tracking, or web-data pipelines
- Strong Excel modeling skills for business cases, scenario analysis, and management reporting
- Experience working across multiple data warehouses and integrating data from varied sources
- Understanding of quick-commerce, grocery, or retail economics across stores, fulfillment, and last-mile operations
- Hands-on experience building Python-based forecasting, machine learning, or decision-support solutions
