We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager for our Raw Material Store to support warehouse operations, inventory management, and quality compliance in our automotive manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless material flow, accurate inventory control, and adherence to IATF 16949 standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Inventory Management
- Monitor and maintain optimal raw material inventory levels to support production schedules
- Implement and execute inventory control procedures including cycle counting programs
- Ensure accurate stock records through systematic inventory tracking and reconciliation
- Coordinate with procurement team for timely material replenishment
- Manage slow-moving and obsolete inventory identification and disposition
2.Warehouse Operations
- Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, and issuing of raw materials
- Implement and maintain efficient warehouse layout and storage systems
- Ensure proper material handling procedures to prevent damage and contamination
- Coordinate material movement activities with production and logistics teams
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization standards
3.Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 quality management system requirements
- Implement quality control procedures for incoming raw materials
- Maintain traceability records and documentation as per automotive standards
- Support internal and external quality audits
- Ensure proper segregation and identification of non-conforming materials
4.Technology & Systems
- Utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS) for inventory tracking and reporting
- Generate and analyze inventory reports for management decision-making
- Support WMS implementation, upgrades, and troubleshooting
- Ensure data accuracy in all system transactions
- Train team members on system usage and best practices
5.Team Leadership
- Supervise and guide warehouse staff in daily operations
- Conduct training programs for team members on procedures and safety
- Monitor team performance and provide coaching as needed
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and company policies
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics,Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in warehouse/inventory management in automotive industry
- Previous experience in Tier 1 automotive supplier environment preferred
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 quality management system
- Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) – SAP/ERP or similar
- Experience with inventory management principles including cycle counting methodologies
- Knowledge of automotive supply chain processes and requirements
- Understanding of FIFO, Shelf life, LIFO inventory principles
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis
- Familiarity with ERP systems integration with WMS
