Anchors the AI Engineering pod, owning the technical design of the agentic complaint-intake product and setting the pattern the junior engineers build against.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of the agentic AI architecture for complaint intake (extraction, enrichment, validation, classification, workflow, SAP write-back) on Azure AI Foundry/Azure OpenAI
- Set technical direction for RAG design, agent orchestration, and prompt/evaluation strategy across the pod
- Define LLM observability, guardrail, and cost-control patterns and ensure the junior engineers implement to them
- Review code and designs from the junior AI engineers; unblock technical issues day to day
- Represent the AI Engineering track in architecture discussions with the Knorr-Bremse Enterprise Solution Architect
Requirements
- 8–12 years in software/AI engineering, with at least 2–3 years hands-on in production LLM/agentic systems (not PoC-only)
- Solid Python; hands-on Azure OpenAI/Azure AI Foundry experience
- Agentic framework experience (e.g., LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, or equivalent) and RAG pipeline design
- Containerised microservices, API design, and LLM observability/guardrail implementation
- Comfortable leading a small technical team and owning delivery accountability sprint over sprint
