AGM Engineering – Power Generation & Genset Systems

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced AGM Engineering to lead our multi-disciplinary engineering team. In this role, you will drive the mechanical, electrical, and acoustic design of our next-generation generator sets (ranging from residential to multi-megawatt industrial units). You will manage a high-performing team of engineers, ensure regulatory and acoustic compliance, support complex tendering processes, and steer our transition toward hybrid energy systems and green power initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Design & R&D;

- Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for recent diesel, gas, and alternative-fuel (e.g., biogas, hydrogen) generator sets.
- Optimize structural designs including base frames, ISO containers, and acoustic enclosures to ensure superior vibration isolation and sound attenuation.
- Oversee advanced thermal management system engineering, focusing on cooling systems, airflow analysis, radiators, and exhaust routing.
- Champion the adoption of CAD/PLM workflows (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks) and simulation protocols (FEA, CFD).

2. Electrical Engineering & Systems Integration

- Oversee the layout and architecture of HT/LT electrical panels, alternators, switchgears, and control systems.
- Manage electrical detailing, including earthing systems, cable scheduling, and wiring architectures.
- Integrate automated control logic, such as AMF (Automatic Mains Failure) panels, synchronising panels, and load-sharing systems.
- Drive the technical integration of Energy Storage Systems (ESS), batteries, and solar-hybrid technologies with traditional gensets.

3. Tendering, Project Delivery & Client Interaction

- Partner with Sales and Business Development teams to design optimized power solutions for Data Centres,



EPC infrastructure, and heavy industries.
- Review complex client specifications, approve Bills of Quantity (BOQ), and deliver accurate technical proposal sheets.
- Interface directly with industrial consultants, regulatory bodies, and major contractors during the pre-bid and design-freeze stages.

4. Team Leadership & Operations

- Manage, mentor, and build a world-class team of mechanical, electrical, and control systems engineers.
- Establish engineering KPIs, quarterly OKRs, and continuous training programs for technical staff.
- Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality Assurance teams to streamline design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and cut scrap costs.

Technical Skills & Competencies

- Core Product Knowledge: Deep understanding of internal combustion engines, alternators, fuel control loops, and generator configurations.
- Standards & Compliance: Mastery of local and international emission laws, ISO testing standards, and safety norms.
- Acoustics & Airflow: Strong comprehension of fluid dynamics, noise suppression, and back-pressure limits in engine exhaust setups.
- Value Engineering: Proven track record in BOM optimization and material selection to lower production costs without dropping product lifespan.

Qualifications & Experience

- Education: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Experience: 12–15+ years of core engineering experience in power generation, capital equipment, or heavy rotating equipment manufacturing.
- Leadership: Minimum 5 years in a senior manager, or department head role overseeing multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Domain: Deep expertise in working with Genset OEMs, EPC infrastructure providers, or large industrial power plants.
