Role & responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Organization Development

- Develop and implement long-term strategy for self-O&M; of EBOP assets across India.
- Build, mentor and develop a high-performing EBOP organization comprising Regional Managers, Site Incharges, Shift Operators, Testing & Commissioning Engineers and specialist teams.
- Create competency development plans, technical certification programs and leadership pipeline for electrical O&M; personnel.
- Establish standardized SOPs, maintenance philosophy, governance framework and technical standards across all sites.
- Drive culture of ownership, accountability and continuous improvement.

2. Electrical Asset Management Own end-to-end asset management of:

- Pooling Substations (PSS)
- Unit Substations (USS)
- AIS/GIS Switchyards
- Power Transformers
- Transmission Lines
- HT/LT Distribution Systems
- Protection & Control Systems
- SCADA & Communication Systems
- Metering Systems
- Reactive Power Compensation Systems
- Battery Systems
- Grid Interface Infrastructure

Drive lifecycle management of assets to improve reliability, availability and operational efficiency. 3. Grid & Transmission Network Management

- Ensure maximum availability of evacuation infrastructure.
- Lead operation and maintenance of transmission lines from 33 kV to 400 kV networks.
- Liaise with CTU, STU, SLDC, RLDC and utility authorities.
- Ensure compliance with Grid Code, CEA Regulations and statutory requirements.
- Lead outage planning, shutdown management and restoration activities.
- Drive reduction of generation loss due to grid and EBOP failures.

4. Reliability & Performance Improvement

- Establish reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) framework.
- Lead condition monitoring programs for critical electrical assets.
- Analyse asset health, fault patterns, MTTR, MTBF and failure trends.
- Develop and execute reliability improvement projects.
- Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for major equipment failures.
- Implement predictive maintenance technologies and digital monitoring systems.

5. Testing, Protection & Commissioning Excellence

- Serve as organizational SME for protection systems, relay coordination and grid protection philosophy.
- Review and approve relay settings for substations and transmission systems.
- Lead periodic testing, calibration and health assessment programs.
- Guide commissioning and handover of recent wind and solar projects.
- Ensure smooth integration of projects into O&M; organization.
- Build in-house testing and commissioning capability to reduce dependency on external agencies.

6. Safety, HSE & Compliance

- Establish zero-harm culture across EBOP organization.
- Ensure implementation of PTW, LOTO, electrical isolation and switching safety procedures.
- Lead safety audits and emergency preparedness programs.

7. Financial & Contract Management

- Prepare annual O&M; budgets for EBOP assets.
- Drive O&M; cost optimization through self-execution strategies.
- Manage OEM, AMC, testing and transmission line O&M; contracts.
- Review technical and commercial scope of contracts.
- Develop spare strategy and inventory optimization plans.
- Monitor contract performance and service delivery KPIs.

8. Stakeholder Management

- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Projects, Asset Management, Finance, Procurement and Safety teams.




- Engage with utilities, transmission companies, regulatory agencies and local authorities.
- Support technical due diligence during acquisitions and project development.
- Lead resolution of critical grid, protection and transmission related issues.

Preferred candidate profile:

- 15-20 years of experience in Electrical O&M;, Asset Management and Grid Operations.
- Minimum 8-10 years in leadership roles managing substations, transmission lines and renewable energy evacuation systems.
- Experience in AIS/GIS substations from 33 kV to 400 kV.
- Hands-on experience in protection systems, relay coordination, testing & commissioning.
- Experience in Wind and Solar Renewable Energy Assets preferred.
- Proven experience in building and leading large multi-location teams.
- Strong exposure to utility interface, SLDC/RLDC coordination and regulatory compliance.

Educational Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
- M.Tech (Power Systems) preferred.
- Electrical Supervisor Competency Certificate preferred.
- Certification in Power System Protection or Reliability Engineering will be an added advantage.
