Job Summary

Responsible for leading the procurement and sourcing strategy for direct and indirect materials, ensuring uninterrupted supply, cost competitiveness, and supplier performance excellence. The role drives strategic sourcing, vendor development, contract management, and cross-functional alignment to support business growth and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

- Lead end-to-end sourcing strategy for raw materials, components, and services.
- Drive supplier selection, RFQs/RFPs, techno-commercial evaluations, and finalization.
- Develop long-term sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.

2. Supplier Relationship & Development

- Build and manage strategic supplier partnerships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Identify and develop recent suppliers to reduce dependency and improve competitiveness.
- Conduct supplier audits, performance reviews, and capability assessments.

3. Cost Management & Negotiation

- Lead commercial negotiations to achieve cost savings and improved payment terms.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives such as value engineering, localization, and alternate sourcing.
- Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and risk factors.

4. Planning & Supply Assurance

- Ensure timely procurement aligned with production and demand plans.
- Mitigate supply risks through proactive planning and supplier coordination.
- Collaborate with planning, production, and logistics teams to ensure continuity.

5. Contract & Compliance Management

- Manage contracts, agreements, and ensure adherence to procurement policies.
- Ensure compliance with company standards,



legal requirements, and audit norms.
- Monitor import-related procurement where applicable (in coordination with logistics).

6. Team Leadership & Process Excellence

- Lead and mentor procurement team members to drive performance and capability building.
- Establish KPIs and drive continuous improvement in procurement processes.
- Implement best practices, digital tools, and ERP systems (SAP).

Qualifications

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering / commerce / business administration
- MBA / PG Diploma in Supply Chain / Procurement / Operations (preferred)

Experience:

- 20+ years of experience in procurement / sourcing / SCM
- Strong exposure to manufacturing environment (aerospace, automotive, engineering, plastics preferred)
- Proven track record in strategic sourcing, negotiations, and supplier management
- Experience in leading teams and cross-functional collaboration
