The Accounts Executive is responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping and transaction processing across the group's global entities in Sage. The role covers bank and account reconciliations, vendor bill and expense processing, payroll and prepaid entries, VAT/GST compliance, preparation of periodic financial statements and supporting schedules, and the maintenance of complete supporting documentation. Accuracy, timeliness, and disciplined record-keeping across multiple entities and currencies are central to the role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
▪ Bookkeeping – Global Entities: Maintain complete and accurate books of account for global entities, ensuring all transactions are recorded in the correct period and entity.
▪ Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts and ensure every transaction is properly recorded in Sage.
▪ Bill Processing: Process and manage vendor bills and employee expense entries, including coding, approval tracking, and posting.
▪ Payroll Management: Assist with payroll entry, verification, and cheque/payment processing in Sage.
▪ Prepaid Entry Management: Monitor and record prepaid expenses and defer or amortise appropriate amounts on a monthly basis.
▪ VAT & Tax Compliance: Prepare monthly VAT/GST filings and ensure timely submission of all tax-related documents and returns.
▪ Account Reconciliation: Perform general ledger and sub-ledger reconciliations in Sage; identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies.
▪ Financial Statements Preparation: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements — profit & loss, balance sheet,
and cash flow — together with supporting schedules and closing entries and support statutory financial statement preparation and audit requirements.
▪ Reporting & Documentation: Generate accounting and management reports and maintain detailed documentation and audit trails for all transactions.
▪ Multi-Entity Accounting: Ensure accurate allocation of costs and revenues across entities, including intercompany and cross-charge transactions.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
▪ CA Inter/CMA Inter or a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
▪ Minimum 2 – 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
▪ Hands-on experience with Sage accounting software — Sage 200 preferred.
▪ Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
▪ Experience preparing financial statements and supporting schedules, and assisting with month-end and year-end close.
▪ Working knowledge of VAT/GST and payroll processing procedures.
▪ Proficiency in MS Excel and Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting.
▪ Attention to detail and accuracy when handling numerical data.
▪ Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver against tight reporting deadlines.
▪ Solid communication and organizational skills.
PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES
▪ Prior exposure to multi-entity or multi-currency accounting environments.
▪ Exposure to statutory reporting frameworks and coordination with external auditors.
▪ Comfort working with process documentation and continuous improvement of routine accounting workflows.
