Program : Titan Kanya Girls Education Program, Tiruvannamalai

Location : Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu

Reports to : Operationally to: Program Manager / Technically to: Finance Manager

Coordinates with: Program Team, Finance & Accounts, HR, and Administration

Job Purpose:

The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial records of the Titan Kanya Girls Education Program, supporting budget monitoring, processing financial transactions, managing advances and settlements, coordinating with the project and Kalike’s finance team, and ensuring compliance with organizational financial policies and donor requirements.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

A. Accounting & Financial Transactions

- Maintain project-level accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Verify bills, invoices, vouchers and other financial documents before processing.
- Process payments and financial transactions in accordance with approved procedures.
- Ensure that all expenses are supported by appropriate bills, approvals and required documentation.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.

B. Budget Monitoring

- Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets on a regular basis.
- Prepare Budget vs. Actuals statements and highlight significant variances.
- Coordinate with the Program Manager and Finance Manager on budget utilization.
- Track component-wise and activity-wise expenditure.
- Flag potential under-utilization, over-utilization or budget constraints in advance.
- Support preparation and revision of project cash-flow requirements.

C. Advance Management

- Maintain records of staff and activity advances.
- Monitor outstanding advances and ensure timely settlement.
- Follow up with staff for submission of bills and settlement documents.




- Ensure that new advances are processed in accordance with organizational policy.
- Prepare periodic outstanding advance statements for review.

D. Financial Reporting

- Prepare periodic financial statements and expenditure reports as required.
- Provide financial information for monthly, quarterly and annual program reviews.
- Support preparation of donor financial reports and utilization statements.
- Provide expenditure data for management reviews, MRM, quarterly reviews and budget monitoring.
- Ensure financial information is accurate, complete and submitted within timelines.

E. Procurement & Payment Coordination

- Coordinate with the Program Team and Admin Assistant, regarding procurement-related financial documentation.
- Verify purchase requests, quotations, comparative statements, purchase orders and invoices as applicable.
- Ensure payment documentation is complete before submission to the Finance team.
- Track pending payments and communicate payment status to relevant stakeholders.

F. Payroll & Staff-Related Financial Support

- Coordinate with HR/Finance on project staff-related financial information, where applicable.
- Support payroll-related documentation and project staff cost allocation.
- Maintain records required for staff reimbursements and official claims.

G. Audit & Compliance

- Ensure financial records are maintained in accordance with organizational policies.
- Support internal, statutory and donor audits.
- Provide vouchers, bills, ledgers,



registers and other financial documents required for audit.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations relating to project financial documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information.

H. Financial Coordination & Advisory Support

- Coordinate regularly with the Program Manager regarding project financial status.
- Provide timely financial inputs for program planning and decision-making.
- Alert management regarding unusual expenditure patterns, pending settlements or documentation gaps.
- Support the program team in understanding budget availability and financial procedures.

- Updated project expenditure and budget information.
- Timely cash-flow and financial inputs.
- Complete and audit-ready financial documentation.
- Compliance with organizational financial procedures.

Qualification & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting/finance, preferably in NGO, CSR or development-sector projects.
- Working knowledge of accounting software/Tally/ERP systems.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel/Google Sheets.
- Experience in budget monitoring, bank reconciliation, advance management and financial reporting.
- Good understanding of documentation and financial compliance.
- Robust attention to detail and ability to meet reporting deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
