Role Description The Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Manora, responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations in alignment with WeBuddhist’s values and practices.

Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate general ledger entries, preparing financial statements, and reconciling accounts and bank records. The role involves overseeing accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices and payments, and monitoring cash flow to support stable operations. The Accountant will assist with budgeting and forecasting, prepare reports for leadership, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and local regulations.

The role also includes supporting audits, improving financial processes, and collaborating with other team members to provide clear, timely financial information.





Qualifications

- Strong skills in financial accounting and reporting, including general ledger management, journal entries, and preparation of balance sheets and income statements.
- Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support decision-making and long-term planning.
- Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, invoice management, and cash flow monitoring.
- Ability to use accounting software and spreadsheets effectively; familiarity with common tools such as Excel and cloud-based finance systems.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting standards, tax rules, and compliance requirements, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to present financial information in an accessible way to non-finance colleagues.
- Demonstrated integrity, discretion, and respect for confidentiality in handling financial and personal data.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; skilled certifications (e.g., CPA or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Alignment with Buddhist-inspired values and openness to working in a mission-driven, mindful environment; prior experience in non-profit or community organizations is a plus.
