Role Description The Accountant role at Virmoya is a full-time onsite position responsible for managing day-to-day financial and accounting operations. This includes maintaining general ledgers, preparing journal entries, reconciling bank and vendor accounts, and ensuring accurate recording of sales, inventory, and expense transactions.

The role involves preparing financial statements and management reports, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, monitoring cash flow, and supporting tax and statutory compliances in collaboration with external auditors or consultants. The Accountant will also review financial data for accuracy, maintain documentation for audits,



help improve internal controls and accounting processes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams such as operations, merchandising, and management to provide financial insights that support decision-making.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in financial accounting and reporting, including general ledger management, account reconciliation, and preparation of financial statements.
- Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support cost control, profitability tracking, and management decision-making.
- Experience with TALLY, as well as solid knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and other productivity applications.
- Understanding of taxation, statutory compliance, and audit support processes relevant to retail or fashion businesses.
- Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to identify discrepancies and improve financial processes.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with remote and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and work independently in a remote setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CA, CMA) are a plus.
- Prior experience in retail, fashion, or consumer goods industries is beneficial, as is familiarity with inventory and cost accounting.
