Role Description The Accountant will handle day-to-day financial operations, including recording transactions, maintaining ledgers, preparing vouchers, and reconciling bank and cash accounts.

Responsibilities include managing accounts payable and receivable, monitoring budgets, assisting with financial reporting, and supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual statements. The role involves ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements,



as well as coordinating with internal teams and external partners such as auditors and vendors. The Accountant will also support grant and project accounting, expense tracking, and the implementation of financial controls and process improvements.

This is a full time, hybrid role based in Udupi, with some work-from-home flexibility as per organizational requirements.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in general accounting, including bookkeeping, ledger management, and bank reconciliation.
- Ability to prepare financial statements, manage budgets, and handle accounts payable and receivable.
- Proficiency with accounting software and productivity tools (e.g., Excel, spreadsheets, and financial management systems).
- Knowledge of relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements applicable in India.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a hybrid work environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; skilled certifications (e.g., CA, CMA, or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Prior experience in non-profit, educational, or project-based organizations is beneficial, especially in grant or project accounting.
