Role Description The Accountant role at Plane Pockets is a full-time, on-site position based in Pune. The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, including bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. This role will prepare and review financial statements, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions.

The Accountant will monitor compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies, and support internal and external audits.



Collaboration with operations and management teams to analyze costs, track revenue streams, and provide financial insights to support business decisions is a key part of this position.

Qualifications

- Strong accounting fundamentals, including knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, general ledger management, and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Excel, including experience with ERP or cloud-based finance tools.
- Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
- Understanding of taxation, compliance, and audit support, preferably within service or technology-oriented organizations.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret financial data and provide transparent, actionable insights.
- Attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and strong organizational skills for handling multiple deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CA, CPA, CMA) are an advantage.
- Prior accounting experience in a startup, travel, or tech environment is preferred but not mandatory.
