Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Academic Counsellor role based in Bengaluru South.

The Academic

Counsellor will guide prospective and enrolled students on course options, study plans, and exam preparation pathways aligned with their academic goals. Daily responsibilities include conducting counseling sessions, providing career and academic guidance, addressing student and parent queries, and assisting with course selection and enrolment processes.



The role also involves maintaining accurate student records, coordinating with teaching and administrative teams, and participating in outreach or information sessions as needed.

Academic

Counsellors are expected to uphold Aakash’s student-first ethos, ensuring that each learner receives supportive, informed, and ethical guidance.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Student Counseling and Academic Advising skills, with a focus on test-prep and school/board-level education.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication and active listening.
- Candidates should possess Career Counseling skills to help learners explore academic and professional pathways in medicine, engineering, and related fields.
- Candidates should possess a solid foundation in Education principles and an understanding of the Indian school and competitive exam systems.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in academic counseling, student advisory, or test-prep institutions is an advantage.
- Ability to build trust with students and families, work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and use basic digital tools for record-keeping and communication.
