Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to join our offshore development team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining a cloud-native application built on React and Spring Boot, and Python, deployed on AWS. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with proficiency in AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and rapidly onboard into complex existing systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Independently detail-design new components and features — translating high-level requirements into technical designs, API contracts, data models, and implementation plans with minimal oversight
- Design, develop, and maintain front-end applications using React (hooks, context, component libraries)
- Build and enhance back-end services using Spring Boot (REST APIs, microservices, security, data access)
- Develop Python services and utilities for data processing, automation, scripting, and API development
- Design and implement event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka — including producers, consumers, topic design, schema evolution, and stream processing
- Architect and deploy AWS cloud-native solutions leveraging services such as ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, and API Gateway
- Leverage AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to accelerate coding, code review, test generation, and documentation
- Use AI tools to rapidly analyze and comprehend existing codebases, system architecture, and business logic with minimal ramp-up time
- Proactively identify and escalate risks, concerns, blockers, and dependencies early — not waiting for standup or check-ins to surface issues
- Collaborate with onshore product owners, architects, and stakeholders across time zones
- Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and architectural discussions
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure quality and reliability
- Knowledge of security best practices (OWASP, OAuth2/OIDC, secrets management)
- Develop and implement CI/CD pipelines and contribute to infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to incident resolution
- Familiarity with observability tools (CloudWatch, Dynatrace)

Required Qualifications

- 7+ years of professional software development experience
- 3+ years with React (including modern patterns: functional components, state management, routing)
- 3+ years with Spring Boot (REST APIs, Spring Security, Spring Data, JPA/Hibernate)
- 2+ years with Python (Flask/FastAPI, scripting, data processing, or automation)
- 2+ years building and deploying applications on AWS
- Proven ability to work autonomously — taking ownership of features from design through delivery with minimal direction or hand-holding
- Demonstrated experience producing detailed technical designs (component diagrams, sequence flows, API specifications) that can be reviewed and approved asynchronously
- Demonstrated experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes)
- Proficiency using AI coding assistants in day-to-day development workflows — not just prompting, but integrating AI into code comprehension, refactoring, and delivery acceleration
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design, microservices patterns, and event-driven architecture
- Experience with Kafka Streams, ksqlDB, or Schema Registry for advanced stream processing
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB)
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

This is a low-oversight, high-autonomy role. We expect the successful candidate to:

- Receive a user story or feature request and independently produce a detailed design — asking clarifying questions upfront rather than waiting for direction
- Make sound technical decisions aligned with existing patterns and architectural standards without requiring approval on every choice
- Raise blockers, concerns, and risks immediately through the appropriate channel (Slack, standup notes,



or direct message) — delays caused by silent blocking are unacceptable
- Distinguish between decisions they can make independently and those requiring team or architect input, escalating the latter promptly
- Provide transparent, written status updates and design proposals that enable asynchronous review across time zones

AI Proficiency Expectations

This role places a premium on candidates who can demonstrate:

- Using AI tools to generate boilerplate, tests, and documentation — reducing time on repetitive tasks
- Prompting AI assistants to explain unfamiliar code, trace data flows, and summarize architectural decisions
- Applying AI to translate business requirements into technical specifications and acceptance criteria
- Critically evaluating AI-generated output for correctness, security, and alignment with team standards
- Identifying where AI accelerates work versus where human judgment is essential
- Prior experience onboarding into large, undocumented or legacy codebases using AI-assisted analysis

- Location: Offshore
- Overlap: Minimum 3–4 hours daily overlap with US Eastern Time
