About the Role

We are looking for an SAP EWM Functional Consultant to lead and execute an EWM rollout to new warehouses and plants based on an existing global template. The role spans fit gap, localization, configuration and integration, data migration, cutover, and hypercare, working closely with business SMEs, product owners, and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

Rollout and Template Governance

Analyze fit gap against the global EWM template. Document localization needs, country specific legal and quality requirements, and operational constraints.

Drive template adoption while proposing controlled deviations backed by business case and impact analysis.

Create and extend organizational structure including warehouse numbers, storage types, storage sections, bins, activity areas, queues, work centers, and resources.

Coordinate with cross functional teams including MM, SD, PP, QM, TM, MDG, Basis, and Security, as well as release management for transport sequencing.

Core EWM Functional Scope

Inbound

ASN or IDN handling. GR strategy. Deconsolidation. QIE integration with QM. HU and packaging specifications. POSC and LOSC. Exception handling.

Outbound

Wave management. Pick, pack, and staging processes. WT and WO determination. Cartonization and packing. GI and PPF outputs. Integration with SD and TM.

Internal

Replenishment. Stock transfers. Slotting and rearrangement. Physical inventory. VAS. Cross docking. Kitting and packaging specification rules.

RF Framework

Menu design. Exception codes. Device testing. Queue priorities.

Master Data and Control

Product, batch, and serial management. Packaging specifications. Storage control. Process types. Document and item types. WOCRs. Warehouse and order creation rules.

Integration qRFC monitoring. IDocs. TM freight units and stages. HU interface. QIE. Optional Yard Logistics, MFS, and Labor Management.

Build, Test and Cutover





Configure EWM according to the global template. Produce functional specifications, configuration requirement documents, and WRICEF specifications for forms, labels, RF screens, enhancements, PPF actions, and BAdIs.

Prepare test scenarios and traceability. Lead SIT and UAT with defect triage. Ensure performance and volume test readiness.

Define cutover plans covering master data loads, stock uploads, open orders, bin creation, wave queues, and mock runs with rehearsal checklists.

Execute data migration using LSMW, BDC, and standard APIs for products, packaging specifications, bins, HU types, business partners, customers, vendors, and initial stock loads.

Provide go live support and hypercare.

Operations and Support

Create training content including SOPs and RF job aids. Conduct end user training and key user enablement.

Establish monitoring and support procedures using SCWM MON, SCWM SQUEUE, SMQ2, SM58, SLG1, delivery monitors, and PPF error handling.

Drive continuous improvements after rollout. Document lessons learned and backlog items.

Required Skills and Experience

6 to 12 years of SAP experience with 3 to 7 years in EWM. At least 2 end to end EWM implementations and 1 or more rollout projects.

Hands on configuration experience in inbound, outbound, and internal processes, POSC, LOSC, WT and WO determination, WOCR, activity areas, queues, resource management, replenishment, and physical inventory.

Hands on experience with RF Framework, HU and Packaging Specifications,



PPF outputs and actions, and QIE integration.

Robust integration knowledge with MM, SD, TM, QM, PP, and IDoc, qRFC, CIF, and DRF replication.

Experience in data migration, cutover, and hypercare during warehouse go lives.

Ability to write functional specifications, review technical and ABAP specifications, and guide WRICEF development including BAdIs, enhancements, forms, and labels using SmartForms and Adobe Forms.

Proficiency with testing tools such as Solution Manager and ALM, defect management, and release management.

Excellent stakeholder communication skills with a proven record of working with operations users on the shop floor using RF devices.

Nice to Have

Embedded EWM on S4HANA 2023 experience with knowledge of differences compared to Decentral EWM.

Exposure to Yard Logistics, Labor Management, MFS, Kitting, Advanced VAS, Cross Docking, and Slotting and Rearrangement optimization.

SAP TM integration including freight units, OTR, DTR, stages, and freight order updates.

Experience with barcode and RF devices, label formats such as ZPL and EPL, and printer setup.

Familiarity with MDG.
