Job Description Database Developer

Position: Database Developer

Location: Mumbai Onsite

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Database Developer with strong hands-on expertise in MySQL and PostgreSQL. The candidate will be responsible for database design, development, optimization, maintenance, and troubleshooting while working closely with application development and business teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain databases using MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, and database objects.
- Design efficient database schemas, tables, indexes, and relationships.
- Perform query optimization and performance tuning.
- Analyze and resolve database performance and data-related issues.
- Implement database changes, migrations, and upgrades.
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, security, and availability.
- Work with developers to optimize application-to-database interactions.
- Perform database monitoring, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
- Support backup, recovery, and disaster-recovery processes.
- Participate in database migration projects between environments or database platforms.
- Write and maintain technical documentation related to database structures and processes.
- Follow database development standards, coding best practices, and change-management procedures.

Required Skills

- 6–10 years of hands-on experience in Database Development.
- Strong proficiency in MySQL.




- Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL.
- Excellent knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.

- Strong understanding of database design, normalization, relationships, and constraints.
- Experience in database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Good understanding of transactions, locking, concurrency, and isolation levels.
- Experience with database backup, restore, and recovery concepts.
- Knowledge of database migration and deployment processes.
- Positive analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good to Have

- Experience with cloud databases such as AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure Database, or Google Cloud SQL.
- Knowledge of database replication and high-availability concepts.
- Experience with ETL/data migration processes.
- Familiarity with Git and CI/CD processes.
- Exposure to database automation and scripting.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix commands and shell scripting.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
