Job Description
URVA Consulting is hiring an Accountant / Senior Accountant for an Indian-managed business based in Ghana (West Africa).
We are looking for a hands-on accounting professional, preferably someone currently working or having previously worked with a CA firm / accounting firm, where they have independently handled the accounts of multiple clients or companies.
The ideal candidate should be capable of managing accounting activities from routine bookkeeping through finalization of accounts, preparation of Profit & Loss Account and Balance Sheet, Income Tax Return-related work, and coordination/handling of annual audits.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle complete accounting for multiple companies/business entities.
- Maintain books of accounts and ensure proper accounting entries.
- Independently finalize accounts periodically and annually.
- Prepare Profit & Loss Account and Balance Sheet.
- Prepare supporting schedules, reconciliations and financial statements.
- Handle Income Tax Return-related accounting and documentation work.
- Support/handle applicable taxation and statutory compliance activities.
- Coordinate with auditors and independently support the annual audit process.
- Prepare documentation and information required during statutory/financial audits.
- Handle bank,
ledger, vendor/customer and other account reconciliations.
- Review books of accounts and identify accounting discrepancies.
- Work independently and take ownership of accounting activities.
Candidate Requirements
- B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter preferred.
- CA qualification is NOT mandatory.
- Strong practical experience in accounts finalization is essential.
- Must have hands-on experience preparing P&L; and Balance Sheet.
- Experience handling accounts for multiple companies/clients simultaneously is strongly preferred.
- Candidates currently working in local CA firms / accounting firms would be highly relevant.
- Should have exposure to Income Tax Returns and annual audits.
- Good working knowledge of Tally / accounting software and MS Excel.
- Should be comfortable working independently with limited supervision.
- Must be willing to relocate to Ghana (West Africa).
Preferred Candidate Background
Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in:
- Local / mid-sized Chartered Accountant firms
- Accounting and taxation firms
- Audit firms
- Companies where they independently managed accounts for multiple entities
Important: We are particularly interested in candidates whose day-to-day work involves handling the books of 3–6 or more
companies/clients, finalizing their accounts and preparing their P&L; and Balance Sheets.
