Job Title: Deputy Manager – ECU Hardware Design & Development Position: Deputy Manager – ECU Hardware Design & Development Experience: 9–12 Years Function: Engineering / R&D; Industry: Automotive / Automotive Electronics Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Deputy Manager – ECU Hardware Design & Development to lead and drive hardware design and development activities for automotive Electronic Control Units (ECUs). The role involves end-to-end ownership of ECU hardware development, design reviews, validation, compliance, and coordination with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in automotive ECU hardware design, analog and digital electronics, PCB design, EMC/EMI, and functional safety , along with proven experience in team handling and project ownership. Key Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end hardware design and development of automotive ECUs. Define hardware architecture and translate system requirements into hardware specifications. Design and review analog and digital electronic circuits . Lead schematic design, PCB design, layout review, and hardware design verification . Conduct design reviews, identify potential hardware risks, and drive corrective actions. Ensure ECU hardware meets applicable automotive quality, reliability, EMC/EMI, and functional safety requirements . Work on EMC/EMI design, testing, troubleshooting, and compliance . Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 and support functional-safety-related hardware activities. Coordinate with software, systems, validation, mechanical, manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams. Support prototype development, bring-up, debugging, testing, and issue resolution. Drive root-cause analysis and resolution of hardware issues during development and validation. Manage project timelines, deliverables, technical risks, and design milestones.



Mentor and guide the hardware engineering team and support capability development. Interact with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders as required. Contribute to continuous improvement of hardware development processes and engineering practices. Must-Have Skills Solid experience in Automotive ECU Hardware Design & Development . Excellent knowledge of Analog and Digital Electronics . Hands-on experience in schematic design and PCB design/review . Good understanding of EMC/EMI design and compliance . Knowledge of ISO 26262 / Functional Safety for automotive electronics. Experience in hardware debugging, validation, and troubleshooting. Strong understanding of automotive electronics development processes. Proven experience in team handling and project ownership . Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills. Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills Experience with automotive ECU product development from concept through production. Knowledge of hardware validation and qualification processes. Experience with design tools such as Altium, Cadence, Mentor Graphics, or equivalent . Understanding of automotive communication interfaces such as CAN, LIN, FlexRay, or Ethernet . Exposure to DFMEA, DVP&R;, APQP, PPAP , and related automotive development processes. Experience working with OEMs or Tier-1 automotive organizations. Educational Qualification Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, or a related engineering discipline.
