Job Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer / Technical Lead to lead the development of scalable, high-performance backend systems that support critical airline operations and customer-facing applications. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in technical leadership, enjoys mentoring teams, and is passionate about building reliable, cost-efficient systems using modern backend technologies. While the primary focus of this role is backend engineering and technical leadership, experience or familiarity with AI/ML concepts and data engineering practices is a plus. You may occasionally collaborate with data teams to support intelligent features and data-driven systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the design, development, and deployment of backend services and APIs.
- Drive technical architecture, design reviews, and engineering best practices.
- Manage and mentor a team of backend engineers, ensuring high-quality delivery and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, infrastructure, and business stakeholders.
- Ensure systems are optimized for scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
- Define and track technical KPIs, including system uptime, latency, and resource utilization.




- Evaluate and adopt appropriate streaming technologies and orchestration tools to support real-time and batch processing needs.

Required Skills & Experience:

- 7+ years of backend development experience using Python, Java, JavaScript, or similar languages.
- Solid understanding of backend architecture, API design, and microservices.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and data modeling.
- Proven ability to lead engineering teams and manage project delivery.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS and GCP.
- Familiarity with streaming platforms (e.g., Apache Kafka, Google Pub/Sub) and workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Prefect).
- Experience with performance monitoring, benchmarking, and cost optimization.

Good to have :

- Prior experience in the airline, travel, or transportation domain.
- Exposure to observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
- Experience working in agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
