Role Summary

The QA Lead/Automation Lead Retail POS Systems owns the overall test strategy and quality outcomes for the retail POS implementation. This role leads the QA team, plans and coordinates SIT, UAT, and regression cycles across releases, manages the defect lifecycle end to end, and serves as the quality gatekeeper for store rollouts. The Lead is accountable for test coverage, schedule, and stakeholder sign-off.

Core Responsibilities

- Define the overall QA strategy, test plans, and entry/exit criteria for the POS program.

- Lead, mentor, and allocate work across a team of QA analysts; review test cases and results for quality.

- Plan and coordinate SIT, UAT, and regression cycles across releases, including environment and test-data readiness.

- Own the defect lifecycle - triage, prioritization, and timely resolution - and chair defect review meetings with development and business teams.

- Manage integration testing strategy with downstream systems (loyalty, eCommerce, payments, inventory) and resolve cross-team dependencies.

- Act as the quality gate for store rollouts, providing go/no-go recommendations and formal sign-off.

- Report test progress,



coverage, risks, and quality metrics to project stakeholders and leadership.

Required Skills

- Extensive hands-on QA experience with retail POS or enterprise commerce systems.

- Proven ability to lead QA teams and own test strategy across complex, multi-system implementations.

- Deep expertise in SIT, UAT, and regression planning, plus test estimation and coverage analysis.

- Strong defect management and triage skills; experience chairing defect review and go/no-go decisions.

- Proficiency with test management and defect-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, ALM, Azure DevOps) and QA metrics/reporting.

- Robust stakeholder management and communication skills across development, business, and store-operations teams.

Nice to Have

- Direct testing experience with Oracle Xstore POS.

- Experience creating and executing XUnit test cases, including writing automated unit and integration tests and integrating them into the CI/CD pipeline.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

- 5 6 years of software QA experience, including 2+ years in a QA lead or test management role, preferably in retail/POS.

- ISTQB Advanced (or equivalent) certification preferred.
