Position: Finance and Accounts - Head (For Manufacturing Company)

Location: Kolkata

Experience: 15+ years

Prior experience in manufacturing industry is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

- Accounting ownership: Personally ensure robust ledgers, reconciliations, provisions, accruals, inventory, fixed assets and financial statements.

- Disciplined closing: Establish a predictable monthly / annual closing calendar and materially improve both speed and accuracy.

- SAP Finance utilisation: Make SAP FI/CO and its links with MM / PP central to accounting, costing, controls and reporting;
reduce manual workarounds.

- Manufacturing finance: Strengthen product costing, standard vs actual cost, conversion cost, material / energy / labour analysis and variance reporting.

- Inventory discipline: Improve valuation, reconciliation, WIP, slow / obsolete stock visibility and physical stock controls.

- Internal controls: Strengthen controls across purchase, payments, expenses, inventory, assets, revenue, credit and banking without unnecessary bureaucracy.

- Tax and audit: Ensure timely GST, TDS, income-tax and statutory compliance;
manage audits and closeobservations systematically.

- MIS and decision support:



Provide accurate, concise reporting on margins, EBITDA, variances, cash flow, working capital and profitability.

- Working capital and banking: Manage receivables, payables, liquidity and routine banking requirements effectively.

- Team building: Build a disciplined Finance & Accounts team with SOPs, backups and less dependence on individual knowledge.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Qualified CA: Strong technical grounding in accounting and financial reporting.

- Accounts-first depth: Must have strong experience in closing, reconciliation, inventory accounting, costing and ledger issues.

- Hands-on SAP experience: Practical experience using SAP to close accounts and enforce process discipline.

- Manufacturing background: Meaningful experience in plant / manufacturing finance and costing (Automotive / foundry / engineering manufacturing experience will be preferred).

- Broader finance capability: Comfortable with budgets, forecasts, cash flow, working capital and business analysis.
