Role Overview
We are looking for a Workforce Analytics Analyst to support Resource Management, Workforce Planning, MIS, and business analytics initiatives. The role will manage and analyze workforce data, develop automated reporting solutions, and create Power BI dashboards to support business and leadership decision-making.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in advanced Excel, Excel automation, and Power BI, along with a good understanding of workforce/resource management metrics such as utilization, demand, capacity, deployment, bench, hiring fulfillment, and headcount.
The role will work closely with Finance, HR, Talent Acquisition, Delivery, and Business teams to analyze data, identify trends and revenue-impacting gaps, and provide actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
1. Workforce Analytics & Resource Management
- Maintain and analyze workforce data covering demand, supply, utilization, deployment, capacity, bench, headcount, and hiring fulfillment.
- Support resource allocation and workforce planning activities.
- Monitor open demand, aging positions, bench levels, utilization, and fulfillment status.
- Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improving resource utilization and deployment.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc workforce reports for business and leadership reviews.
- Support capacity planning and workforce forecasting through data-driven analysis.
2. Excel Automation & MIS
- Develop, maintain, and automate complex Excel-based trackers, reports, dashboards, and analytical models.
- Automate repetitive reporting activities using VBA/Macros.
- Build scalable Excel solutions using Pivot Tables, Power Query, Power Pivot, VBA/Macros, XLOOKUP / INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS / COUNTIFS, Dynamic Arrays, and LET / LAMBDA.
- Develop automated templates for resource allocation, demand tracking, bench management, utilization tracking, capacity planning, and hiring fulfillment.
- Review existing reports and identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and reduce manual intervention.
3. Power BI & Business Intelligence
- Develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards for Resource Management and leadership reporting.
- Build data models and develop DAX calculations to support workforce analytics.
- Create dashboards covering utilization, open demand and fulfillment, bench, hiring fulfillment, aging, headcount, and capacity/workforce forecasting.
- Integrate and transform data from multiple sources using Power Query and other relevant tools.
- Ensure dashboards provide clear, actionable insights rather than simply presenting data.
4. Finance & Revenue Analytics
- Work closely with Finance to analyze workforce data and revenue-impacting scenarios.
- Identify potential revenue leakage, revenue loss, non-billable positions, and capacity gaps arising from resource availability or deployment.
- Analyze the financial impact of utilization, bench, delayed deployment, and open demand.
- Develop reports and dashboards that help Finance and Business leaders understand workforce-related financial impact.
- Support scenario analysis and data-driven decision-making around workforce costs, utilization,
and revenue opportunities.
5. Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate MIS and workforce management processes.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into automated solutions.
- Support workflow automation initiatives using Power Automate where applicable.
- Develop standardized templates, reporting formats, and dashboards.
- Maintain process documentation, SOPs, and reporting definitions.
6. Stakeholder Management & Reporting
- Work closely with Resource Management, Finance, HR, Talent Acquisition, Delivery, and Business teams.
- Consolidate data from multiple stakeholders and ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Present key findings, trends, and exceptions in a clear and business-friendly manner.
- Support leadership reviews with timely and accurate dashboards and insights.
- Respond to ad-hoc analytical and reporting requirements.
Required Skills
Must Have
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in Workforce Analytics, Resource Management, MIS, Business Analytics, or a similar role.
- Advanced hands-on expertise in Microsoft Excel.
- Robust knowledge of VBA / Macros, Power Query, Power Pivot, Pivot Tables / Charts, and advanced Excel formulas.
- Hands-on experience in Power BI dashboard development.
- Basic to intermediate understanding of DAX and data modelling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to work with large datasets and convert data into meaningful business insights.
- Ability to work closely with Finance and business stakeholders on revenue and workforce-related analysis.
