- Operate conventional Milling and Lathe machines efficiently and safely.
- Perform turning, facing, boring, drilling, threading, grooving and other machining operations.
- Carry out milling, slotting, keyway and other machining activities as required.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions and tolerances.
- Manufacture and modify patterns, tools, fixtures, dies and machine components.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, cutters, speeds and feeds according to the job.
- Perform machine setting, tool changing and basic troubleshooting.
- Check dimensions using Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Dial Gauge and other measuring instruments.
- Maintain required accuracy and surface finish of components.
- Coordinate with Tool Room, Pattern, Production and Maintenance teams.
- Maintain machines, tools and work area in good condition.
- Follow all safety, quality and housekeeping (5S) standards.
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience in Lathe & Milling machine operation.
- Knowledge of Tool Room / Pattern Shop activities.
- Ability to understand engineering drawings.
- Positive knowledge of measuring instruments and dimensional inspection.
- Knowledge of different cutting tools and machining processes.
- Ability to work independently and meet production requirements.
Qualification
ITI / Diploma – Mechanical / Tool & Die / Machinist / Fitter or equivalent.
