Key Responsibilities
- Extend and maintain the Unity-based GCS application for drone control and visualization
- Work with MAVLink communication layers for telemetry, commands, status updates, and parameter exchange
- Improve and maintain connection flows for UAV links (serial/TCP/UDP)
- Develop reusable C# logic for drone state handling, command dispatch, telemetry parsing, and UI updates
- Troubleshoot protocol-level issues, device communication failures, and app-side state synchronization
- Collaborate with product/firmware stakeholders to align app behavior with PX4/ArduPilot-style drone workflows
- Optimize Unity performance, scene flow, UI responsiveness, and memory use
- Maintain clean architecture, readable code, and robust error handling in a growing Unity codebase

Required Skills
- Strong C# development in Unity
- Experience building desktop or simulation applications in Unity
- Experience working with MAVLink or similar UAV protocol stacks
- Understanding of drone/GCS architecture and telemetry flows
- Comfortable with UI development in Unity (buttons, panels, HUDs, data-driven screens)
- Valuable knowledge of threading, async patterns, and event-driven code
- Debugging skills for network/serial communication and runtime state issues
- Ability to work with large existing codebases and maintain backward compatibility
Preferred Skills
- Experience with PX4 or ArduPilot ecosystem
- Knowledge of MAVLink message definitions and common command patterns
- Experience with parameter management, calibration flows, mission plans, and telemetry dashboards
- Able to work with generated or legacy Unity code and refactor safely
- Experience with logging, diagnostics, and production app stability
- Understanding of 2D/3D map integrations and drone visualization
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field, or equivalent project experience
- 5+ years of Unity C# development experience
- 1+ years of real-world MAVLink or UAV application experience preferred
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to continue existing project work with minimal ramp-up
