Job Title: Sewing Trainee

1. Job Purpose
To undergo hands-on training in garment sewing operations and develop the skills required to operate industrial sewing machines safely and efficiently while maintaining quality, productivity, and production standards.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Learn and perform basic sewing operations under the guidance of the trainer/supervisor.
- Learn to operate different types of industrial sewing machines.
- Understand basic garment construction, stitching methods, and operation sequences.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and approved samples.
- Handle fabrics, trims, and garment components carefully.
- Maintain proper stitching quality and minimize sewing defects.
- Check stitched components for basic quality issues and report defects to the supervisor.
- Learn proper thread trimming, seam alignment, stitch formation, and garment handling.
- Achieve assigned training and production targets progressively.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping at the workstation.
- Follow machine safety procedures and all factory safety rules.
- Report machine problems, needle breakage, fabric defects, or other production issues to the supervisor.
- Support the sewing team and cooperate with operators, quality personnel, and supervisors.
- Participate in skill-development and cross-training programs.
- Continuously improve sewing speed, accuracy, quality, and efficiency.
3. Eligibility & Qualifications
- Minimum 8th / 10th standard pass preferred.
- Freshers are welcome; previous sewing/tailoring experience is an advantage.
- Basic reading and writing ability.
- Interest in garment manufacturing and sewing work.
- Willingness to learn industrial sewing operations.
