With collaborations across globally recognised entertainment and lifestyle brands, a growing D2C business and a strong presence across marketplaces, we are now looking to significantly strengthen our in-house footwear product creation and development capabilities.

About the RoleWe are looking for a Senior Footwear Designer – Product & Mould Development who can take a footwear concept from a blank sheet of paper to a production-ready commercial product.

This is not a purely creative/design role.

The ideal candidate should understand the complete footwear development process — concept → design → last → upper → outsole → mould/tooling → prototype → sampling → corrections → final production.

You will work closely with our founders, product, sourcing, merchandising and manufacturing teams to create differentiated footwear products specifically for Bacca Bucci.

The person should be equally comfortable discussing design, construction, materials, moulds, tooling, costing and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

- Footwear Concept & Design
- Develop original footwear concepts aligned with Bacca Bucci's brand DNA, consumer and market trends.
- Create new sneaker, sports, lifestyle, casual, boots and slide concepts from scratch.
- Translate inspiration, trends and market insights into commercially viable footwear designs.
- Develop complete footwear concepts including upper, outsole, proportions, colourways, materials and detailing.
- Create design concepts that have a strong visual identity and can become signature Bacca Bucci products.

2. Outsole & Mould Development
- Independently develop outsole concepts and designs from scratch.
- Design outsole patterns, tread, geometry, grip elements and visual details.
- Work on development of EVA, Phylon, TPR, Rubber, PU and other sole constructions.
- Coordinate with mould/tooling manufacturers to convert designs into production-ready moulds.
- Understand mould construction, tooling limitations, draft angles, parting lines, material flow and manufacturing feasibility.
- Review mould drawings, tooling samples and first mould trials.
- Identify and resolve mould-related issues during sampling.
- Ensure the final outsole achieves the desired balance of aesthetics, comfort, durability,



weight and cost.

3. Complete Shoe DevelopmentOwn the product development process from concept to production, including:

Concept → Last → Upper → Sole → Mould → Prototype → Sample → Wear Test → Corrections → Final Production

- Work on last selection and/or last development.
- Develop upper construction, panels, patterns and material combinations.
- Select appropriate materials, components and construction methods.
- Coordinate with factories for sample development.
- Evaluate first samples and provide detailed technical corrections.
- Ensure design intent is maintained throughout the development process.
- Create production-ready specifications and technical documentation.

4. 3D & CAD Development
- Create and modify footwear designs using relevant CAD/3D software.
- Develop accurate outsole and component drawings for tooling.
- Convert design concepts into technically feasible 3D models.
- Work with mould manufacturers and factories using technical drawings and 3D files.

Experience with tools such as Rhino, Shoemaster, AutoCAD, Blender or other footwear CAD/3D software will be an advantage.

- Factory & Vendor Coordination
- Work directly with footwear factories, outsole manufacturers, mould makers and component suppliers.
- Brief vendors clearly on product requirements.
- Review samples and provide structured feedback.
- Conduct sample reviews and ensure corrections are implemented.
- Troubleshoot technical issues during development and production.
- Build strong working relationships with manufacturing partners.

6. Product Innovation
- Identify current footwear construction techniques, materials, sole technologies and design opportunities.
- Develop proprietary outsole platforms and signature design elements for Bacca Bucci.
- Explore recent silhouettes and construction techniques.
- Work on products that offer a clear point of difference in the market.
- Continuously study international footwear trends, emerging brands and consumer preferences.

7. Commercial & Production UnderstandingThe ideal candidate should understand that great design also needs to be commercially viable.

What We Are Looking ForMust Have
- 2–4 years of relevant footwear design/product development experience.




- Strong experience in footwear development from concept to production.
- Proven experience in outsole design and mould/tooling development.
- Strong understanding of footwear construction.
- Experience working with footwear factories and mould manufacturers.
- Understanding of lasts, upper construction, sole attachment and footwear materials.
- Ability to independently develop products rather than only execute someone else's designs.
- Strong understanding of commercial footwear manufacturing.
- Good knowledge of footwear CAD/3D design tools.
- Strong eye for proportion, detailing, colour and product aesthetics.
