Job Summary

File Share Management (FSM) Engineer The File Share Management (FSM) Engineer is responsible for the administration, operation, and continuous improvement of the enterprise File Share Management service — covering approximately 20,000 Active Directory file shares (Group & Project Shares) across the organization. \\r\\n\\r\\nThe service is delivered through two components: a central, automated File Share Management solution (via the Admin.Net FSM webservice, currently used at 15 onboarded locations with 6 more onboarding and 5 queued, covering ~8,000 shares and ~46,000 secured sub-folders today) and a decentralized tool (Admin.Net Client) used at locations not yet migrated to the central service. Both are backed by Distributed File System (DFS) Services. \\r\\n\\r\\nThe role drives ongoing onboarding of remaining sites toward the client\\\'s target of full centralization, and owns the eventual migration of the FSM ordering module from the current platform (IT-Shop, ~31 sites today) to a successor ordering system (e.g., ServiceNow). \\r\\n\\r\\nThe role coordinates closely with Data Center/Storage teams, the ordering-system platform team, and end users acting as Fileshare Owners who self-serve share and access requests.

Key Responsibilities

Central FSM Service Administration Administer and maintain Group & Project Shares via the central Admin.Net FSM webservice — including SMWS web servers, load balancers, the central database, DNS/SSL certificates, and MQ queues. Ensure the self-service ordering interface functions correctly for new share requests, sub-folder management, access requests, and Fileshare Owner approvals. Select appropriate storage volumes for new share creation and perform other manual provisioning tasks not covered by automation. Decentralized FSM (Admin.Net Client)



Maintain functional parity between the decentralized Admin.Net Client and the central Admin.Net FSM webservice for sites not yet migrated to the central service. Support naming-convention and governance compliance for decentrally-managed shares. DFS Services Operation Operate and monitor Distributed File System (DFS) Namespaces and Replication underpinning both central and decentralized file share delivery. Site Onboarding Plan, coordinate, and execute FSM onboarding for current locations: analyze existing shares and access permissions, and perform remediation/corrections needed to bring them onto the Admin.Net FSM standard. Maintain the onboarding pipeline (currently 6 locations onboarding, 5 queued) and report progress toward full centralization. Incident, Problem & Change Management Handle 1st/2nd-level incident tickets and 3rd-level problem management tickets for the FSM service. Execute both automated standard changes (via the Admin.Net FSM webservice) and manual changes that require hands-on execution (e.g., migrating a share to a different file server). Vulnerability & Interface Management Maintain and continuously improve the Admin.Net FSM webservice and its interfaces/systems, including vulnerability management for the FSM service footprint. Perform and document end-to-end (E2E) integration tests for changes to the webservice. Ordering System Integration & Migration Coordinate with the platform team operating the ordering system (currently IT-Shop; ~31 IT-Shop sites in scope today) to ensure the FSM self-service module functions correctly. Own the eventual development and integration of an FSM module into a successor ordering system (e.g., ServiceNow),



including ongoing maintenance and enhancement once migrated. Stakeholder Coordination Work with Data Center / Storage teams to ensure the Admin.Net FSM webservice's backend functionality and performance. Coordinate with the client's FSM Service Owner on roadmap, standard changes, and service improvements. Documentation & Reporting Document planned and executed changes to the Admin.Net FSM webservice. Maintain onboarding and operational documentation; provide operational reports per the standard service reporting cadence.
