Manager - Product Development - Tools & Hardware - 5 Years - Gurugram We are looking for a Product Development professional with 5 years of experience in power tools, hardware, technical sourcing, or OEM/ODM. The ideal candidate should have hands-on Chinese supplier experience, strong technical evaluation and benchmarking skills, and the ability to drive products from concept to launch.

Responsibilities

- Driving new product and category development from market requirement and benchmarking through supplier identification, sampling, technical evaluation, costing, production approval, and launch.
- Identifying, evaluating, and developing Chinese OEM/ODM manufacturers and component suppliers while building alternative sourcing options.
- Conducting technical evaluations, product teardowns, and component-level analysis across AC/DC power tools and related products.
- Benchmarking competing products on architecture, components, performance, features, durability, ergonomics, and cost positioning.




- Developing and conducting product testing protocols covering torque, RPM, runtime, battery performance, temperature, vibration, endurance, and reliability.
- Working with suppliers on product modifications, value engineering, target costing, tooling, MOQ, quality, and production timelines.

Requirements

- 5 years of relevant experience in power tools, hand tools, hardware, product development, technical sourcing, supplier development, or OEM/ODM manufacturing.
- Proven hands-on experience working directly with Chinese manufacturers or suppliers for product development and/or sourcing.
- Strong understanding of product teardown, benchmarking, testing, failure analysis, root-cause analysis, validation, and value engineering.
- Practical knowledge of AC/DC power tools, including motors, gear systems, bearings, switches, controllers, batteries, BMS, and chargers.
- Strong experience in supplier identification, sample development, technical negotiations, product modifications, costing, and production coordination.
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering preferred; relevant Diploma Engineers with strong hands-on experience may also be considered.
