About the Role

India Agro Exports is hiring a Maintenance Manager to drive plant reliability, utility performance, and uncompromised food safety. This leader will optimize machinery uptime, conduct root-cause analysis, lead technical teams, and present key metrics to executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Machinery & Engineering Operations (Hands-on)

- Equipment Maintenance: Plan and carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance for all processing equipment, including sorting and grading lines, washing tanks and agitators, slicing machines, canning machines, seaming machines, filling, sealing, and capping machines, labeling lines, conveyors, and brine and vinegar dosing systems.




- Utilities Management: Direct operation, servicing, and upkeep of primary plant utilities including cold storage, water treatment plants, effluent and sewage treatment plants, diesel generators etc.,
- Breakdown Troubleshooting: Get directly involved during major breakdowns to identify and fix electrical faults and mechanical faults.
- Downtime Reduction: Keep line stoppages to a minimum, especially during peak harvest and processing seasons, through fast troubleshooting and root cause analysis that prevents repeat failures.

Food Safety, Hygiene & Statutory Compliance

- Make sure all engineering, repair, and utility work meets food safety standards such as FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, BRCGS, HACCP, FSSAI, and FDA, so that no chemical or physical contamination reaches the product.
- Put in place food-grade lubricant use and sanitary piping practices in all areas that come into contact with the product.
- Maintain full compliance with local statutory mandates including Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) guidelines, Electrical Inspectorate requirements, and Factories Act safety rules.

Leadership, Reporting & Stakeholder Management

- Management Reporting:



Share regular updates with senior management on maintenance KPIs, including MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), MTTR (Mean Time To Repair), OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), SIO (Safety improvement opportunity), and utility energy costs.
- Budget & Capital Projects: Prepare and control the annual maintenance budget (OPEX and CAPEX), assess the return on investment in machinery upgrades, and deliver approved capital projects.
- Inventory & Vendor Management: Control spare parts stock (seals, valves, conveyor belts, electrical components, etc.) and manage contracts with OEMs, spare parts suppliers, and external utility contractors.
- Lead, coach, and build the skills of maintenance engineers, technicians, and floor operators, including shift scheduling and performance reviews.

Candidate Profile

- Education – B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electrical & Electronics Engineering (Diploma holders with robust, relevant experience may be considered).
- Experience – A minimum of 15 years of progressive plant maintenance experience, including at least 10 years in food or beverage processing and at least 3 years in a team leadership role.
- Key Skills – RCA (5 why’s, fishbone, FMEA), Data driven decisions (MTTR, MTBF, OEE), Food Safety as an engineering discipline (with strong exposure to BRCGS & FSSC Audits), Planning for seasonality, Commercial Thinking, Safety Leadership.
