Minimum 7+ years of hands-on Mainframe experience with strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, Assembler, Mainframe file structures, copybooks, utilities, schedulers, and AI/ML-enabled automation concepts.

REQUIREMENT FOR MAINFRAME SME

Key Responsibilities

- Act as a Mainframe Subject Matter Expert (SME) for enterprise Mainframe applications and systems.
- Analyze and support Mainframe applications developed using COBOL, JCL, and Assembler.
- Understand and analyze various Mainframe file structures, datasets, layouts, and copybooks.
- Work with Mainframe utilities such as SORT and IDCAMS for data processing and file management.
- Manage and troubleshoot batch processing and scheduling activities using CA-7 and/or Control-M.
- Analyze application dependencies, batch flows, job streams, and system interfaces.
- Provide technical guidance on Mainframe application architecture, processing flows, and operational issues.
- Support application impact analysis, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, database, and modernization teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve Mainframe processes through automation and AI/ML technologies.
- Understand and contribute to the creation of AI/ML-enabled agent workflows for Mainframe-related use cases.
- Explore opportunities for intelligent automation of repetitive Mainframe analysis and operational activities.




- Support technical discussions related to Mainframe modernization and transformation.
- Review technical solutions and provide SME-level recommendations.
- Prepare technical documentation, application flow diagrams, process documentation, and knowledge artifacts.
- Support issue resolution, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Who Can Apply?

- Candidates with 7+ years of Mainframe experience.
- Solid hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, and Assembler.
- Good understanding of Mainframe file structures, datasets, copybooks, and data layouts.
- Hands-on experience with SORT and IDCAMS.
- Experience with Mainframe schedulers such as CA-7 and/or Control-M.
- Strong understanding of batch processing and job scheduling.
- Experience in Mainframe application support, development, maintenance, or modernization.
- Understanding of AI/ML concepts and their application to enterprise technology.
- Basic to strong understanding of AI agent workflows / agentic automation.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Good to Have

- Experience with Mainframe modernization initiatives.
- Knowledge of DB2, IMS, VSAM, CICS, MQ.
- Experience with Mainframe migration or cloud transformation.
- Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages.
- Experience integrating Mainframe systems with modern applications/APIs.
- Experience developing AI-assisted automation or agent workflows.
- Knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, or AI agents.




- Experience with DevOps or CI/CD practices.

Education Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
