Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Illumio Security Engineer to provide operational support for an enterprise cybersecurity environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Illumio Core and Zero Trust Segmentation, including policy management, workload visibility, troubleshooting, and incident support.

This is a hands-on support position rather than a high-level architecture role. The engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and support of the Illumio environment, working with security, network, server, application, and infrastructure teams to maintain effective segmentation and resolve issues.

Responsibilities

- Provide day-to-day operational support and administration of the Illumio Core platform.
- Support Zero Trust Segmentation (ZTS) and microsegmentation policies across enterprise workloads.
- Monitor and analyze application and workload communications using Illumio Explorer and application dependency maps.
- Create, modify, test, and maintain Illumio segmentation policies and rulesets.
- Assist with defining appropriate communication policies between applications, workloads, environments, and network zones.
- Support the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Illumio Virtual Enforcement Nodes (VENs).
- Troubleshoot connectivity and application communication issues associated with segmentation policies.
- Analyze traffic flows to identify required communications and potential unauthorized or unnecessary connections.
- Support onboarding and labeling of servers and workloads into the Illumio environment.
- Assist with policy testing and enforcement to minimize disruption to production applications.
- Troubleshoot VEN connectivity, policy synchronization, enforcement, and workload communication issues.
- Respond to security and infrastructure incidents involving Illumio-managed workloads.
- Participate in P1/P2 incident response and troubleshooting as required.
- Work with network, Windows, Linux, application, cloud,



and cybersecurity teams to investigate and resolve issues.
- Support change management activities associated with Illumio policy changes and deployments.
- Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, troubleshooting guides, and policy documentation.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance and change windows when required.
- Participate in an on-call/standby support rotation as required by the customer.

Required Qualifications

- Hands-on experience administering or supporting Illumio Core in an enterprise environment.
- Experience with Illumio Policy Compute Engine (PCE) and Virtual Enforcement Nodes (VENs).
- Practical experience implementing or supporting microsegmentation/Zero Trust Segmentation.
- Experience creating and maintaining Illumio labels, rulesets, policies, and workload configurations.
- Experience using Illumio traffic-flow visibility and application dependency mapping for troubleshooting and policy development.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including:
- TCP/IP
- Ports and protocols
- Routing
- DNS
- Firewalls
- Network segmentation
- Experience troubleshooting application and server connectivity issues.
- Working knowledge of Windows and Linux server environments.
- Experience working within enterprise incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues methodically and work effectively with multiple technical teams.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to provide support during U.S. business hours from India.

Preferred Qualifications

- Illumio certification or formal Illumio training.
- Experience supporting Illumio in a large enterprise environment.
- Experience with Illumio Core APIs or automation.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.
- Experience supporting cybersecurity technologies in a 24x7 enterprise setting.
- Exposure to hybrid environments involving on-premises and cloud-hosted workloads.
- Experience working with firewall, network security, or endpoint security technologies.
- Previous experience supporting U.S.-based enterprise customers from India.
