About SustVest

SustVest is a CRISIL Top-10 rooftop solar developer (#8, CY2025) with 80+ commercial and industrial (C&I;) plants (~30 MW) across 13 states, operated under OPEX/RESCO and EPC models. We're backed by Antler, WEH Ventures, IPV and Nikhil Kamath, among others. Having built our own in-house EPC and procurement capability, we're now looking for someone to own design across our project pipeline.

The Role

You'll own the design function for every C&I; project, from pre-sales feasibility through execution-ready drawings. You'll work directly with the COO/founders, the sales team and project execution leads, and your designs will turn into commissioned plants within weeks.

What You'll Do

- Site-to-layout conversion: Take site measurements, drone surveys and rooftop drawings, and turn them into accurate, practical module layouts in Solarlabs and AutoCAD. The layouts must account for obstructions, shading, walkways, parapets and roof load limits.
- Structure layouts: Prepare solar structure drawings, including mounting type, purlin and rafter placement, and tilt and row spacing, suited to each roof type: RCC, metal sheet or tile.
- Generation modelling: Run energy yield simulations and loss analysis in PVsyst to produce bankable P50/P90 reports that feed our proposals and financial models.
- Electrical design: Prepare SLDs, string configurations and inverter sizing, along with cable sizing and routing and earthing and lightning protection layouts in AutoCAD.
- BOQs: Prepare detailed, execution-ready BOQs covering modules, inverters, structures,



BOS and cabling that procurement can order against directly.
- Proposal support: Turn around quick-sizing designs for sales so we can quote accurately and fast.
- Execution handoff: Issue GFC drawings, resolve site queries, and review as-built drawings with the project team.
- Standards: Build design templates, checklists and standard component libraries that keep quality consistent as we scale.

What We're Looking For

- B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or Renewable Energy engineering
- 2–4 years in solar PV design, ideally rooftop C&I; projects of 100 kWp to multi-MW
- Hands-on proficiency in PVsyst, AutoCAD and Solarlabs
- Solid command of rooftop and solar structure layouts, including module layouts, structure drawings and roof-type-specific mounting, is a must
- A proven ability to read site measurements and convert them into accurate, buildable layouts quickly
- Solid understanding of IS/IEC standards, DISCOM net-metering requirements and rooftop structural constraints
- Ability to handle multiple projects at once with quick, accurate turnarounds

Good to Have

- Experience with Helioscope, SketchUp or Arka 360
- Exposure to BESS/hybrid system design
