DRAFTING ADVOCATE – FAMILY LAW

Employment Type: Full-time, Work from Office

Salary: ₹50,000–₹60,000 per month, based on experience and suitability

Probation: 1–3 months

Additional Compensation: Performance-based incentives for quality drafts completed beyond the assigned monthly target, subject to TAT, accuracy and approval standards.

About the Role

BNN Family Law Firm is looking for an experienced Drafting Advocate – Family Law who can independently manage the complete drafting process—from receiving the case reference and understanding the facts to preparing an accurate, approved and filing-ready set.

Key Responsibilities

- Understand case facts, client requirements, legal issues and reference materials before drafting.
- Review case documents and identify missing information; coordinate with clients to obtain required facts, documents and clarifications.
- Independently draft family law matters including divorce, mutual consent divorce, custody, maintenance, domestic violence, legal notices, judicial separation, restitution of conjugal rights, applications, replies, counters and affidavits.
- Coordinate with senior advocates and clients, incorporate instructions and corrections, and maintain proper version control.
- Conduct thorough legal and factual verification of drafts, including facts, dates, chronology, provisions, jurisdiction, grounds and reliefs.
- Finalise documents after required approvals and ensure all supporting documents, annexures and filing requirements are complete.
- Prepare accurate, properly arranged and filing-ready sets, including indexing and pagination as required.




- Coordinate with the filing/court team to resolve documentation or drafting issues before filing.
- Maintain the drafting tracker, meet assigned TATs and effectively manage multiple assignments.
- Proactively follow up on pending information, corrections and approvals, maintain confidentiality and take complete ownership of assignments until filing handover.

Drafting Incentive

Performance-based incentives may be provided for additional quality drafts completed beyond the assigned monthly target, provided they meet the firm's standards for accuracy, legal and factual verification, approval and TAT. The incentive structure will be based on the firm's monthly targets and applicable performance criteria.

Required Skills & Experience

- LL.B. degree with relevant legal drafting experience.
- Robust practical knowledge of Family Law and family court matters.
- Experience drafting divorce, mutual consent divorce, custody, maintenance, domestic violence, dowry-related matters, legal notices, judicial separation and restitution of conjugal rights matters.
- Excellent legal drafting, research, proofreading and analytical skills.
- Ability to understand complex matrimonial disputes and convert facts into clear, structured legal pleadings.
- Strong client communication, coordination and follow-up skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify factual and legal inconsistencies.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments within TATs.
- Strong English drafting skills and Kannada communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with senior advocates, clients, operations and filing teams.

Proficiency in Google Workspace, documents, spreadsheets and case-management systems is preferred.
