Position Summary

As an entry-level Quality Engineer in the Analytics Horizontal team, you will help ensure the reliability, accuracy, usability, security, and performance of analytics solutions, including reports, dashboards, ETL and data pipelines, APIs, and AI-enabled applications. Working under the guidance of experienced quality engineers and in collaboration with developers, analysts, product owners, and business stakeholders, you will translate requirements and acceptance criteria into structured test scenarios, execute manual tests, validate data across source and target systems, document defects, and support regression and release testing. You will receive training on the team’s applications, analytics platforms, testing practices, and automation tools while building a strong foundation in quality engineering for enterprise analytics.

Key job responsibilities

- Work with quality engineering leads, developers, analysts, and product owners to understand requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and business rules.
- Prepare and maintain test scenarios, detailed test cases, test data, requirement traceability, and evidence for analytics solutions.
- Execute functional, integration, system, regression, retesting, exploratory, user-interface, API, and end-to-end testing across reports, dashboards, data pipelines, and AI-enabled applications.
- Validate reports and dashboards for data accuracy, calculations, filters, drill-downs, visual behavior, usability, access controls, exports, and performance.
- Use SQL and source-to-target comparisons to verify data completeness, accuracy, consistency, transformations, reconciliations, refreshes, and exception handling across databases and analytics platforms.
- Test ETL/ELT workflows, file and API integrations, scheduled jobs, and cloud-based data processes, including positive, negative, boundary, and failure scenarios.
- Test AI-enabled application capabilities for functional correctness, response relevance, groundedness, guardrails, permissions, error handling, and consistent behavior using approved test data and expected outcomes.
- Identify, document, prioritize, track, retest, and report defects with clear reproduction steps, supporting evidence, expected results, actual results, and business impact.
- Support test automation by creating or maintaining reusable scripts for API, user-interface, data-validation, and regression testing under guidance.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, defect triage, test-status reporting, release-readiness activities, and post-release validation.




- Maintain test suites, test data, quality metrics, and supporting documentation, and contribute ideas for improving test coverage and delivery quality.

Education/Background

- Bachelor’s Degree educated or equivalent in Computer Science or related field

Key skills
- Foundational understanding of software testing concepts, the software development life cycle, and defect life cycle.
- Ability to understand requirements and acceptance criteria and convert them into clear test scenarios and test cases.
- Basic SQL knowledge for querying, comparing, and validating data, including joins, filters, aggregations, and reconciliation checks.
- Knowledge of data-quality concepts such as completeness, accuracy, consistency, uniqueness, validity, and timeliness.
- Familiarity with testing web applications, reports, dashboards, APIs, or data pipelines through coursework, projects, internships, or practical experience.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and willingness to investigate data and application issues.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document defects and explain findings to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Ability to learn new analytics platforms, business processes, and testing tools and to work collaboratively in a fast-paced Agile team.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for test data preparation, analysis, reconciliation, and quality-status reporting.
- Exposure to test-management or defect-tracking tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or equivalent platforms.
- Basic scripting or programming knowledge in Python, C#, JavaScript, or a similar language.
- Exposure to test automation tools or frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, or API testing tools such as Postman.
- Familiarity with reporting and visualization tools such as QlikView, Qlik Sense, SSRS, Bold Reports, or Power BI.
- Awareness of ETL/ELT concepts, relational databases, REST APIs, data warehouses, and cloud services such as AWS S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, or Databricks.
- Interest in testing AI and GenAI solutions,



including prompt-based applications, retrieval-augmented generation, response evaluation, guardrails, and responsible use of test data.
- Understanding of Agile delivery, version control, CI/CD, release testing, and production validation.
- Relevant software-testing coursework or certification, such as ISTQB Foundation Level.
