Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Accountant – Level I to support our day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting operations. The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of accounting principles and hands-on familiarity with bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and accounting software.
This role is ideal for someone with 1–3 years of experience who is organized, accurate, willing to learn, and comfortable working under the guidance of senior accounting team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and recording financial transactions.
- Enter vendor bills, customer invoices, payments, receipts, and other transactions into QuickBooks, Odoo, or similar accounting software.
- Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations and identify discrepancies for further review.
- Prepare and record basic journal entries under the guidance of senior accounting staff.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all supporting documents are properly organized.
- Assist with general ledger and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Support payroll processing by maintaining payroll records and recording payroll-related transactions.
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Monitor outstanding customer invoices and assist with payment follow-ups.
- Assist with vendor payment processing and maintain up-to-date accounts payable records.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Help maintain accurate financial records and documentation for internal reviews and external audits.
- Perform other bookkeeping and accounting duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting,
or a similar role.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles, GAAP, debits and credits, and journal entries.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks, Odoo, or similar accounting platforms.
- Basic knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger processes.
- Familiarity with payroll processing and tax compliance is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of financial reporting and account reconciliation.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Google Sheets, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
- Valuable written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn, accept guidance, and develop accounting and bookkeeping skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with QuickBooks Online is preferred.
- Familiarity with US accounting and bookkeeping processes is an advantage.
- Experience working with an e-commerce or multi-channel business is a plus.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify discrepancies and escalate issues appropriately.
