Position: Senior Accountant
We are seeking an immediate candidate
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Goods & Services Tax (GST)
1.1. Monthly Compliance
File GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B on time.
Perform GSTR-2B reconciliation with books.
Match output tax and input tax entries with the Electronic Credit Ledger.
Reconcile bank entries relating to GST with the Electronic Cash Ledger.
1.2. Annual Compliance
Apply for Letter of Undertaking (LUT) once a year.
File GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C annually.
2. Income Tax
2.1. Annual
Coordinate with statutory auditor for annual computation and tax audit filing.
Perform final reconciliation before finalising financials.
2.2. Quarterly
Reconcile Form 26AS with books to confirm customers have given correct TDS credits.
2.3. Monthly / Transaction-wise
Pass entries for TDS receivables on customer invoices to track correct credits.
3. Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) – Payables
3.1. Annual
File Form 13 in April for lower deduction certificate with required documentation.
3.2. Quarterly
File TDS returns accurately and on time.
3.3. Monthly
Make timely TDS payments.
Reconcile TDS returns with books.
Check TDS applicability on every payment before processing; do not process without confirmation.
4. Payroll, ESI & PF
4.1. Monthly Payroll Processing
Verify correctness of Salary Data through HRMS Software; test 1–2 transactions monthly.
Process payroll after all approvals.
Prepare Excel workings to cross-check software output.
4.2. Attendance & Leave
Verify attendance software integration with payroll.
Maintain leave balances as per statutory requirements.
4.3. Statutory Payments & Filings
Make ESI and PF payments before due dates.
File ESI and PF returns on time.
Coordinate with consultant for UAN creation and ESI/PF portal issues.
5. Coordination with Consultant & HR
Ensure HR provides accurate data to Consultant for statutory register maintenance.
Cross-check accuracy of registers.
6. Banking
6.1. Annual
Submit documents in December for OCC and term loan renewal.
6.2. Monthly & Quarterly
Provide monthly certificates for stock, receivables, and payables.
Provide quarterly audited statements to bank.
6.3. Ongoing
Maintain sufficient OCC balance for EMI on 7th of every month; alert promoters if shortfall.
Follow up on recent banking facilities.
Visit bank weekly for pending matters.
Verify interest charged by bank; flag discrepancies.
Notify management of idle funds for investment planning.
7. Management Information System (MIS)
7.1. Daily
Prepare customer-wise and cumulative daily sales reports.
Report outstanding receivables and payables.
7.2. Monthly
Prepare monthly P&L; and Balance Sheet with comparative figures:
Current month vs same month previous year.
Quarter-to-date vs same quarter previous year.
Full year totals vs previous year.
8. SAP Implementation
Coordinate with factory team for smooth implementation.
9. Daily Accounting, Invoicing & Vendor Management
9.1. Daily Accounting
Pass all accounting entries (bank, sales, vendor).
Match entries with bank and sales invoices.
9.2. Invoicing
Raise sales invoices daily without delay.
Generate and upload e-invoices as per GST rules.
Generate and manage e-way bills for all applicable dispatches.
9.3. Vendor Invoices
Save vendor invoices from email day-wise.
Cross-check with inwards and purchase teams before booking.
Book only if goods are accepted for production.
9.4. Payments
Make vendor payments strictly against invoices (no “on account” payments).
Weekly: prepare vendor due list for payment.
Coordinate with purchase team for payment scheduling.
9.5. Expense & Asset Accounting
Ensure correct classification of expenses, income, and balance sheet items.
Calculate monthly depreciation (annual depreciation ÷ 12); final reconciliation annually.
Record monthly stock values based on purchase price after finance head’s approval.
10. EPCG & Advance Licence
Coordinate for closure of EPCG and Advance Licence.
Manage extensions where required.
Follow up and complete pending eBRC.
11. Due Diligence & Subsidy
Provide data as per checklists to relevant teams during due diligence or subsidy processes.
12. Statutory Audit
Provide necessary data to auditor and ensure timely closure of annual audit.
13. Company Secretary (CS)
Ensure timely filing of all forms.
Maintain and update statutory registers and minutes.
Conduct quarterly board meetings.
14. Electricity Bill
Make EB payments before due date.
15. Customer Payment Follow-up
Follow up with customers on due dates.
16. Promoter Loan Accounting
Record promoter expenses as per bills submitted.
Credit promoter loan account accordingly.
17. Accounts
Raise purchase orders and invoices.
Maintain books and pass daily entries.
File GST, TDS, and annual IT returns.
Ensure books are accurate and reconciled.
18. Bill of Entry (BOE) Processing
Send BOEs to bank post-goods receipt for payment knock-off.
Ensure no pending BOEs.
19. Duty Payment for Imports
Initiate duty payment upon receipt of machines/foreign goods.
Ensure timely payment.
20. Cash Flow Management
Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow reports.
Manage liquidity for operational needs.
Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications
BCom/MCom/ CA Inter/ICWA Inter/ ICMAI Inter
