A quantity surveyor (QS) manages all financial, budgetary, and contractual aspects of a construction project to ensure it is delivered on time and within budget. Often called the financial consultants of the construction industry, a QS works across every stage of a build—from initial planning to final account settlement.
Before Construction Begins (Pre-Contract)
Feasibility Studies: Assess if a project is financially viable by calculating early cost estimates and site potential.
Cost Planning: Create detailed budgets for materials, labor, equipment, and other expenses based on architectural drawings.
Tendering and Procurement: Prepare bills of quantities (lists measuring exact material and labor amounts) and manage the bidding process to select contractors.
Contract Preparation: Draft and negotiate legal contracts between clients and builders.
During Construction (Post-Contract)
Cost Control:
Monitor ongoing expenses to prevent budget overruns.
Valuations and Payments: Inspect completed work on site and approve periodic payment claims for contractors and subcontractors.
Managing Variations: Calculate the financial impact of design changes or unexpected site issues (change orders).
Risk and Dispute Management: Identify financial risks and help resolve contractual disputes between teams
Final Accounts: Reconcile all remaining costs, variations, and payments to close out the project finances.
Able to work in excel and send excel reports.
Positive speaking english and Hindi desirable
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
