About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated SQL and Unix Shell Scripting Specialist to join our dynamic team at Tata Consultancy Services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and deploying SQL queries and Unix shell scripts that support various project requirements. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent problem-solving skills, capable of working collaboratively with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and ensure seamless implementation. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in automating processes, optimizing database operations, and ensuring the stability and efficiency of our systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet client expectations and adhere to best practices in coding and system management.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in SQL development, PL/SQL, and query optimization.
- Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux operating systems and shell scripting.
- Strong understanding of DDL/DML statements and SQL concepts.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders and team members.
- Ability to analyze requirements, develop solutions, and troubleshoot issues efficiently.




- Experience in automating tasks and processes using shell scripting.
- Knowledge of database and system security best practices.

Responsibilities

- Develop, test, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and PL/SQL scripts in accordance with project needs.
- Create and optimize database queries to improve performance and ensure data integrity.
- Design, develop, and deploy Unix shell scripts for automation, data processing, and system management tasks.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and understand requirements, translating them into technical solutions.
- Perform testing, validation, and deployment of scripts and queries to production environments.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements to ensure system stability.
- Document processes, scripts, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and future maintenance.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to database and system operations.
- Participate in code reviews and adhere to coding standards and best practices.
