JOB DESCRIPTION – TRANSPORT MANAGER

Position: Transport Manager Department: Administration / Operations Location: Coimbatore Experience: 5+ Years Employment Type: Full-Time

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced Transport Manager to manage and oversee the organization’s transportation operations, including buses, drivers, routes, schedules, safety, maintenance, and day-to-day transport activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage daily transportation operations and ensure smooth bus movement.
- Plan and monitor routes, schedules, pick-up and drop-off points.
- Supervise drivers, attendants, and transport support staff.
- Maintain proper records of vehicles, drivers, permits, insurance, and fitness certificates.
- Monitor vehicle maintenance, servicing, repairs, and breakdowns.
- Ensure all vehicles comply with applicable safety and transport regulations.
- Monitor fuel consumption and control transportation-related expenses.
- Handle driver attendance, duty allocation, shift schedules, and leave arrangements.
- Coordinate with departments regarding transportation requirements and route changes.
- Address student/staff/parent transportation-related concerns and resolve issues promptly.




- Monitor GPS/vehicle tracking systems and ensure route adherence.
- Conduct regular inspections of vehicles and transport facilities.
- Ensure emergency and breakdown support is available when required.
- Coordinate with transport vendors and external service providers.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly transport reports.
- Ensure strict adherence to institutional safety policies and procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Any Degree / Diploma in Transport Management, Logistics, Operations, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in transport/fleet management.
- Experience in managing multiple vehicles and drivers.
- Good knowledge of vehicle maintenance, transportation operations, and safety procedures.
- Solid communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and transport/GPS management systems is preferred.
- Valid driving licence is preferred.
