Key Responsibilities & KRAs

Production Planning & Execution

- Own the daily, weekly and monthly production plan for the factory. Achieve ≥95% adherence to plan on units, sqft dispatched and revenue value.
- Break down annual sales orders into monthly production schedules; balance load across CNC, beam saw, edge banding and assembly lines.
- Coordinate with Design & Estimation for timely release of cutting lists, nesting files, and BOM (Bill of Materials).
- Coordinate with Procurement for material availability at the line — zero stock-outs on A-class raw materials.

Machine Operations

- Ensure machine uptime of ≥90% across all machines — beam saw, CNC nesting router, edge bander, panel saw, boring machines.
- Enforce preventive maintenance schedules; work closely with Electrician and machine OEM (Caple / Nanxing / etc.) for troubleshooting.
- Review nesting programs before load to CNC; sign-off on cutting-list optimisation to achieve panel yield ≥92% on beam saw.
- Own dust extraction, compressed air, and shop-floor utilities.

Quality

- Work jointly with QC Head to achieve final-inspection rejection rate ≤1.5%.
- Ensure in-process quality: cutting dimensions ±0.2 mm, edge band pull-strength as per spec, drilling hole positions accurate to 32 mm system.
- Own rework and scrap: scrap ≤3%, rework ≤2%.
- Sign off on every dispatch batch after final QC clearance.

Manpower & Discipline

- Supervise 30-50 direct + contract workers across machining, assembly, packing and dispatch.




- Set daily/shift-wise targets; conduct shift briefings; drive productivity improvements.
- Enforce 5S, housekeeping, shop-floor discipline and PPE compliance.
- Train new operators and helpers; build second-line succession within 12 months.

Safety

- Achieve and maintain zero lost-time injuries.
- Ensure machine guarding, safety interlocks, and lock-out/tag-out procedures for maintenance work.
- Conduct weekly safety walk; monthly toolbox talks with all shop-floor staff.
- Coordinate with the Electrician for electrical safety and DG set testing.

Reporting

- Daily production report to Managing Partner (units, sqft, ₹, downtime, quality issues).
- Weekly review meeting: OEE, yield, rejection, dispatch OTIF.
- Monthly cost review: material yield, labour productivity, machine hours, energy consumption.

Qualification Required

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Wood Technology or Furniture Design. IIWM (Bangalore) / IPIRTI diploma is a solid plus.

Experience Required

10-15 years total, with minimum 5 years as Production Head, Assistant Production Head or Shift-in-Charge in a modular kitchen, office furniture, wardrobe, or panel-based furniture factory. Candidates from Godrej Interio, Featherlite, Wipro Furniture, Sleek, Durian, HomeCentre, Nilkamal or similar Tier-1 manufacturers preferred.
