The STP Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining the hotel's Sewage Treatment Plant to ensure proper treatment of wastewater and compliance with environmental and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate the STP and monitor the treatment process on a regular basis.
- Check and maintain pumps, blowers, motors, filters, dosing systems, and other STP equipment.
- Monitor important parameters such as pH, TSS, COD, BOD, dissolved oxygen, and chlorine as required.
- Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of tanks, screens, filters, and equipment.
- Check chemical levels and handle dosing chemicals safely.
- Maintain daily STP operating logs, readings, chemical consumption, and maintenance records.
- Monitor treated-water quality and report abnormal readings or equipment problems to the Engineering Department.
- Ensure treated wastewater is disposed of or reused according to hotel procedures and applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with maintenance technicians for breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping around the STP area.
- Follow hotel safety procedures, PPE requirements, and environmental guidelines.




- Assist during inspections, water testing, and environmental audits.
- Handle sludge removal and disposal as per approved procedures.
- Respond promptly to equipment alarms, overflow, leakage, or other STP emergencies.

Qualifications & Skills

- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, or related field is preferred.
- Previous experience as an STP Operator / ETP Operator / WTP Operator is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of pumps, motors, blowers, electrical panels, and water-treatment equipment.
- Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and chemical handling.
- Ability to maintain accurate operational records.
- Positive safety awareness and ability to work independently.
- Hotel or commercial-building experience is preferred.

Working Conditions

- Shift-based work, including weekends and holidays as required by hotel operations.
- Regular exposure to wastewater, chemicals, noise, and outdoor/plant-room conditions.
- Use of appropriate PPE is mandatory.
