Job Description: Security AutoCAD Designer1. Design & Drafting

- Prepare detailed AutoCAD drawings for security and ELV systems, including CCTV, Access Control, Video Door Phone, Intrusion Alarm, Intercom, and related security systems.
- Create security device layouts, camera layouts, access control layouts, equipment locations, cable routes, conduit pathways, and control panel drawings.
- Prepare wiring diagrams, schematic diagrams, riser diagrams, single-line diagrams, and system connection drawings.
- Develop detailed drawings based on architectural plans, site measurements, project requirements, and client inputs.
- Update drawings based on site conditions, design changes, and project requirements.

2. System Planning & Engineering

- Interpret project requirements, architectural layouts, BOQs, and specifications to prepare accurate security system designs.
- Plan appropriate locations for CCTV cameras, access control devices, biometric readers, door controllers, sensors, intercoms, and other security equipment.
- Assist the engineering team with cable schedules, device schedules, equipment lists, and control panel configurations.
- Define cable pathways, containment requirements, equipment locations, and integration points for security systems.
- Ensure proper coverage and practical placement of security devices as per project requirements.

3. Documentation & Quality Control

- Prepare complete design documentation packages for project execution teams, including layouts, schematics, elevations, riser diagrams, and connection drawings.
- Maintain drawing standards, revision control, and organized project documentation.
- Ensure drawings follow company templates, project specifications, and client requirements.




- Review and revise drawings to maintain accuracy, quality, and consistency.
- Prepare as-built drawings based on final site installation and approved changes.

4. Coordination & Communication

- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, technicians, and installation teams to ensure designs are clearly understood and correctly implemented.
- Coordinate with architects, MEP consultants, electrical consultants, and vendors to incorporate security-system requirements into project drawings.
- Participate in technical discussions and coordination meetings to resolve design-related issues.
- Incorporate comments and design changes received from clients, consultants, and project teams.

5. Technical Support

- Provide technical clarification related to security drawings and system layouts.
- Support installation teams with technical drawings, revised layouts, and site measurements when required.
- Visit project sites to verify existing conditions, take measurements, and update drawings accordingly.
- Assist in identifying design clashes, installation challenges, and coordination issues and propose practical solutions.
- Support the engineering team during installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities when required.

6. Software & Tools

- Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
- Knowledge of MS Office and other design/documentation tools such as Visio, SketchUp,



or Revit will be an added advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, and MEP drawings.
- Maintain organized project files, drawing archives, revisions, and technical documentation.

7. Compliance & Standards

- Ensure security system designs comply with applicable electrical, safety, and company standards.
- Follow project specifications, client standards, and approved design practices.
- Apply best practices for CCTV coverage, access control device placement, cable routing, equipment installation, and system integration.
- Ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated, and suitable for site execution.

Key Requirements

- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in AutoCAD drafting/design, preferably in Security, ELV, CCTV, Access Control, or related systems.
- Technical Skills: Robust proficiency in AutoCAD and ability to prepare detailed security/ELV system drawings.
- System Knowledge: Good understanding of CCTV, Access Control, Video Door Phone, Intercom, Intrusion Alarm, and other security systems.
- Drawing Skills: Ability to prepare layouts, wiring diagrams, schematics, riser diagrams, cable routing, and equipment layouts.
- Coordination: Ability to coordinate with architects, consultants, project managers, engineers, and site teams.
- Site Knowledge: Willingness to visit project sites for measurements, design verification, and drawing updates.
