Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Assistant Professor in Genetics & Plant Breeding to join our Agriculture Department. The candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses, conducting research in genetics and plant breeding, mentoring students, and contributing to academic and departmental activities.

The ideal candidate should have solid knowledge of plant genetics, crop improvement, plant breeding techniques, quantitative genetics, molecular breeding, and seed technology, along with a commitment to teaching and research excellence.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver engaging lectures, practical sessions, and laboratory classes in Genetics & Plant Breeding.
- Develop and update course materials, lesson plans, and practical manuals.
- Guide students in academic projects, dissertations, internships, and research activities.
- Participate in field trials, crop improvement programs, and departmental research projects.




- Mentor students and provide academic guidance and career support.
- Participate in seminars, conferences, workshops, extension activities, and institutional events.
- Contribute to curriculum development, examination duties, and other departmental responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

- Ph.D. in Genetics & Plant Breeding / Plant Breeding & Genetics / Agriculture or a closely related discipline, as applicable.
- Master's degree in the relevant field with the required academic qualifications.
- Relevant teaching and/or research experience will be preferred.
- Strong communication, presentation, research, and student-mentoring skills.
