Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and innovative Residential Structural Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing the structural components of residential buildings to ensure their safety, stability, and compliance with relevant codes and regulations. You will collaborate closely with architects, builders, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions that meet project objectives and exceed client expectations.

Responsibilities:

- Develop structural designs and calculations for residential buildings, including single-family homes, townhouses, and apartment complexes.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate existing conditions, soil properties, and other factors influencing structural design.
- Utilize structural analysis software and tools to perform load calculations, stability analyses, and design optimizations.
- Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and reports detailing structural solutions and recommendations.
- Collaborate with architects and other design professionals to integrate structural elements seamlessly into overall building plans.
- Review and interpret building codes, zoning ordinances, and other regulatory requirements to ensure compliance throughout the design process.
- Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams during the building phase, addressing any structural concerns or modifications as needed.
- Perform structural inspections of residential buildings to assess their condition, identify deficiencies, and recommend appropriate repair or reinforcement measures.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in residential structural engineering.
- Participate in project meetings, presentations,



and client interactions to communicate project progress, address concerns, and foster positive relationships.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in residential structural engineering, with a focus on wood-framed and/or steel-framed construction.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as RAM Structural System, Revit Structure, or similar programs.
- Thorough understanding of residential building codes and standards, including the International Residential Code (IRC) and local jurisdictional requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in design work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
- Familiarity with construction processes and materials used in residential construction projects.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
