Sample Preparation Assistant

We are looking for a Sample Preparation Assistant to support our testing laboratory operations in Chennai.

The role involves preparing material samples for laboratory testing by cutting, machining, grinding and handling samples as instructed by the technical team.

Key Responsibilities

- Cut and prepare metal and other engineering material samples for testing.
- Assist in machining samples to the required size and shape.
- Operate or assist with cutting machines, grinders and other sample preparation equipment.
- Mark and identify samples correctly before and after preparation.
- Move samples between different laboratory departments for testing.
- Handle and carry samples of different sizes and weights safely.
- Maintain proper segregation of samples to avoid mix-ups.
- Keep the sample preparation area, machines and tools clean and organized.




- Follow safety instructions while operating machines and handling heavy materials.
- Support engineers and technicians with day-to-day sample preparation activities.

Candidate Requirements

- No specific educational qualification required.
- Willingness to perform hands-on workshop and laboratory work.
- Physically capable of lifting, carrying and moving samples of different weights.
- Comfortable moving frequently between different departments.
- Basic understanding of cutting, machining, grinding or workshop activities is preferred.
- Previous experience in a machine shop, fabrication shop, testing laboratory or manufacturing workplace will be an advantage.
- Ability to follow instructions carefully.
- Responsible, punctual and safety-conscious.

Pay: ₹14,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
