Junior Advocate – Banking & Litigation

We are looking for a motivated Junior Advocate to join our litigation practice in Mumbai, with a particular focus on banking, financial services and commercial litigation.

The candidate will work closely with Senior Advocates and will receive hands-on exposure to banking disputes, recovery proceedings, drafting, court appearances, legal research, client conferences and day-to-day conduct of litigation matters.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist Senior Advocates in handling banking, financial, commercial and civil litigation matters.
- Work on matters relating to loan and credit facilities, defaults, recovery proceedings, security documents, guarantees and financial disputes.
- Assist in matters involving SARFAESI Act, Recovery of Debts and Bankruptcy Act (RDB Act), DRT/DRAT proceedings and other banking-related litigation, as applicable.
- Assist in bank recovery matters, proceedings against borrowers/guarantors and enforcement of securities.
- Draft and assist with legal notices, replies, pleadings, applications, affidavits, written statements, rejoinders, petitions and written submissions.
- Conduct legal research on banking, commercial and civil laws and prepare case notes and briefs.
- Attend proceedings before the Bombay High Court, City Civil & Sessions Court, DRT, DRAT, Magistrate Courts, District Courts, Tribunals and other forums, as required.
- Assist Senior Advocates in court hearings, conferences, brief preparation and case strategy.
- Review and analyse loan documents, agreements, guarantees, mortgages, security documents and related correspondence.
- Coordinate with banks, financial institutions, clients, advocates and other stakeholders.
- Assist with filing, e-filing, obtaining orders and ensuring compliance with procedural requirements.




- Maintain case files, hearing schedules and follow-up actions.
- Track orders, next dates and important deadlines.
- Assist with client meetings and preparation of legal opinions and case assessments.

Eligibility

- LL.B. degree from a recognised university.
- Candidate should preferably be enrolled with the Bar Council.
- 0–2 years of experience in litigation, preferably with exposure to banking or commercial matters.
- Freshly enrolled advocates with strong drafting and research skills are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates having prior exposure to banking litigation, DRT/DRAT, SARFAESI or financial recovery matters will be preferred.
