Design Engineer – Automotive Plastics | CATIA V5 / 3D EXPERIENCE

Location: Pune, Maharashtra

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and modify automotive plastic components & assemblies using CATIA V5 / 3DEXPERIENCE.
- Design interior/exterior plastic components considering function, aesthetics, packaging and manufacturability.
- Apply plastic design principles such as draft, wall thickness, ribs, bosses, clips, mounting features and parting lines.
- Prepare/update 2D drawings, GD&T; and engineering specifications.
- Handle design changes based on customer feedback, validation and manufacturing requirements.
- Support DFM/DFA, tooling/mould feasibility, design validation and mass production.
- Coordinate with Tooling, Manufacturing, CAE, Quality, Styling and Packaging teams.
- Maintain CAD data, drawings, BOMs and engineering documentation.

Required Skills:

- Strong hands-on experience in CATIA V5 – Part Design, GSD,



Assembly Design & Drafting.
- Working experience with 3DEXPERIENCE / 3DX.
- Solid experience in Automotive Plastic Component Design & Development.
- Good knowledge of Injection Moulding, DFM/DFA, GD&T; and tooling feasibility.
- Understanding of customer specifications, styling data, packaging and engineering requirements.
- Experience with engineering changes and design release processes.

Preferred Automotive Plastic Experience:
Instrument Panel/IP, Door Trims/Panels, Centre Console, Pillar Trims, Cockpit, Glove Box, HVAC, Bumpers, Exterior Garnishes, Wheel Arch Liners, Grilles, Underbody Plastics and Plastic Brackets/Mounting Components.
