Purchase & Sales Executive – Metals & Industrial Products

About the Role

We are looking for a Purchase & Sales Executive to join our industrial trading business dealing in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, industrial raw materials, steel products, and industrial products.

This is a hands-on, field-oriented role involving both purchasing and sales. The candidate will work directly with suppliers and customers and will be responsible for sourcing material competitively, generating customer enquiries, converting RFQs into orders, coordinating procurement and dispatch, and contributing towards sales targets.

This opportunity is particularly suitable for someone who wants to build practical experience in metal trading, industrial procurement, B2B sales, sourcing, negotiation, and business development.

Key Responsibilities Purchase & Sourcing

- Source ferrous and non-ferrous metals and industrial products from suppliers across India.
- Visit markets and meet manufacturers, stockists, dealers, and traders.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships.
- Obtain quotations from multiple suppliers and compare pricing, quality, specifications, availability, freight, and delivery timelines.
- Negotiate with suppliers and source material at competitive prices.
- Purchase material based on customer requirements and company requirements.
- Follow up on purchases until material is received.
- Build a reliable supplier network across India.

Sales & Customer Development

- Visit existing and prospective customers.
- Identify new industrial customers and develop business relationships.
- Generate RFQs and enquiries from customers.




- Understand customer requirements, specifications, quantities, and delivery requirements.
- Source the required material and prepare competitive quotations.
- Follow up on quotations and convert enquiries into confirmed orders.
- Develop repeat business from existing customers.
- Work towards achieving assigned sales targets.
- Maintain regular customer follow-ups and business development activities.

Stock & Operations

- Monitor available stock and coordinate with the warehouse.
- Assist with physical stock checking and reconciliation.
- Ensure purchased material matches required grade, size, quantity, weight, and specifications.
- Coordinate purchase, sales, warehouse, transport, and dispatch activities.
- Assist in arranging timely dispatch of material to customers.
- Follow up with transporters and suppliers until delivery is completed.

Product & Market Knowledge

The candidate will be expected to learn about:

Prior knowledge of metals is an advantage, but candidates willing to learn will be considered.

Candidate Requirements

- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Robust willingness to learn about metals and industrial products.




- Comfortable with field work, market visits, and customer visits.
- Comfortable speaking with suppliers and customers.
- Good numerical ability and attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of computers and MS Excel.
- Strong follow-up and relationship-building skills.
- Target-oriented and commercially minded.
- Willingness to travel locally and, when required, to other markets in India.
- Freshers are welcome if they demonstrate the right attitude and willingness to learn.

Compensation

Fixed Salary: ₹5,000 per month + Performance-Based Incentives

The incentive component is linked to business performance/sales generated, providing an opportunity to increase earnings through successful customer acquisition, order conversion, and business generation.

What We Expect From You

This is not a purely office-based purchase job.

You will be expected to actively participate in:

Market Visits → Supplier Sourcing → Price Negotiation → Customer Visits → RFQs → Quotations → Order Conversion → Purchase → Stock → Dispatch → Delivery → Repeat Business

The ideal candidate should be hungry to learn, comfortable in the market, good with people, persistent with follow-ups, and motivated by performance-based earnings.
